johnny boy68 11,726
I don't think the guys who bred these dogs need to prove anything to anybody.............I'd say aswell that P as forgotten more about dogs than joball will ever know. 1 Quote Link to post

Guest joball
Good for him johny, but why do they need bigging up on the net all the time, surely they will earn a good rep from word of mouth ! Quote Link to post
bradaz2009 9
Well joball no one was bigging them up just saying that they thought like you until they sin the dogs work, have you? If everybody did think like you there would be no bull x's out there, on paper they sound like a right pain in the arse. But there not all like that some yes but not all i cant really comment on the mal cross because i know nothing about them but i wouldn't mind seeing one go. Seeing is believing. But your speaking as you have sin every1 of them run. I take it as your thl expert 1 Quote Link to post

Simoman 110
I saw these dogs at the midland yesterday, trigger were you the fella with the dog or little fella with the bitch? They look big strong dogs, i will be the first to admit when i first read about this cross i winced, im not a fan of husky types and found them pretty intractable and thought they would make a lurcher that would be hard work and untrainable, a mate has spoken to some of the lads working them and they sound impressive so perhaps my first thoughts were wrong. Must admit i'll stick with what i know and im happy enough but perhaps IN THE RIGHT HANDS this will be a very usefull cross............ Quote Link to post

shushycatcher 219
is that photo the one that caused a stir about wether or not the dogs in it actually caught the rabbits? Quote Link to post
baldockbanks courser 598
I dont see the big deal in big numbers with two or three dogs personaly, you know you got a good rabbiting dog when there running on there own run after run and they still keep going even when there f****d. do you lamp large numbers of rabbits yourself? if you run two dogs and you take 60 your dogs will still only get eneougth time to get there tonges in while the other dog runs before they run again beleive you me thell need to be fit. If I took your dog on a feild and run it 1 run after another on 60 rabbits youd either have to stay out a very long time to give the dog eneogh rest or it will fall over, my dogs are breed to "stay" but no dog can run rabbit after rabbit with out a break the man behind the lamp should know better. Just to add im not defending this new male mute x I think there just another gimmick and as firstlie a coursing man it sadeness me nuthall would even put a dog like buddy over such mongrals ( I suppose the £ 500 stud fee clouded hes judgement). 1 Quote Link to post
leegreen 2,244
is that photo the one that caused a stir about wether or not the dogs in it actually caught the rabbits? I think it is and they didn't catch them did they? Quote Link to post
oneshot1986 72
i love how people judge these dogs without seeing them work how can they be a gimmick if a dog catches its quarry then its doing a job it was bred for how do you think other breeds were found over the years there really are some asses on here and ent all lurchers mongrals Quote Link to post
bunnys 1,236
first lets get this right ,and i am in no way leaning one way or the other here. Any first cross will catch rabbs some better than others which also applies two purpose bred rab dogs.the malamutes willi have no doubt do well in areas of infestations of rabbs ,this type of well made robust strong boned animal will be able to withstand the rough weather deep in the winters than most crosses of f1s this type his not bred has an out and out running type hound but on the lines of a multi functional type dog for those who have not had the experience of heavy types of first cross dgs mals alis belgian sheppards will be pleasantly surprised how sharp they can be , also when these types hone there skills they are usually well capable of taking the larger edible game cleanly. iTwas no surprise to me when they bred on that a coursing type was used to perpetuate the line the corect decision in my eyes , the extrs speed plus the running ability his just a few qualitys which the coursing dog brings to thecross .The greyhound willnot bring these qualitys infact i allways consider to much grey his a detriment and generally loses youfieldcraft running brain on live game the list his endless to the point of disastrious effects . wishing you good luck chaps with your new venture and hope the cross nicks, look forward of there progress in the future mthsatb bunnys 3 Quote Link to post
