Plong 21
Foxes usually bolt to ferrets though, but no doubt they could kill one if they wanted to but everyone I know who has found a fox in a rabbit set their ferrets have bolted it. I know one keeper who bolted 2 in one day while ferreting. Quote Link to post
RossM 7,979
heard of that before but never seen it, big hob ferrets bolting foxes, Quote Link to post
simonrocco 175
a fox will kill & eat most things when its hungry enough ferrets included a ferret is no match for a fox. Quote Link to post
paulus 26
they may well be equiped to kill ferrets but ive never seen one do it always bolt rather than fight. i have seen a ferret killed by a badger though. Quote Link to post
LAZYBSTARD 225
vixen bolted with my ferret in its mouth dead but she didnt live long after it Quote Link to post
nod 285
i have bolted a fox with my ferret, but then i know 2 ferrets that have lost to a fox, i think it all depends what time of year it is, if its a vixen with cubs then she aint really going to bolt she will protect them, winter might be different they need all thier energy to catch food so any fight would be avoided 1 Quote Link to post
salukiman 28
think a fox will always do what it needs to excape, the fight is a last resort any injury could mean death to an animal that hunts to suvive. when they bolt to ferrets it must have an element of suprise however a ferret obove ground in a calculated attack by an animal that hunts with its brain is simply dead in my opinion.
