fox vrs ferret

am speaking to someone on another site,the guys saying just leave the stray ferret in the wild were theres rabbits and it will be ok.the hunting expert!! seems sure a fox would not attack a ferret,thats shite right?? a fox would attack and kill a ferret any chance it got?am sure ive seen posts here with foxs trying to attack ferrets through hutchs etc

Of course it would....christ theres foxes out there that take rabbits out of dogs mouths on the lamp...............seemingly!!

i have bolted a fox with my ferret, but then i know 2 ferrets that have lost to a fox, i think it all depends what time of year it is, if its a vixen with cubs then she aint really going to bolt she will protect them, winter might be different they need all thier energy to catch food so any fight would be avoided

think a fox will always do what it needs to excape, the fight is a last resort any injury could mean death to an animal that hunts to suvive. when they bolt to ferrets it must have an element of suprise however a ferret obove ground in a calculated attack by an animal that hunts with its brain is simply dead in my opinion.
