Andyz & I

Hi every one

Andyz & I

Went over to Stanford place Oxfordshire, for a spot of vermin control. We haven’t been over here for a month or so, and decided it would be a good shout! Andy picked me up at 7 ish and we got to the permission at 7:35pm, we had a quick zero session and then drove down to the back of the property and parked up and waited.

A half hour had passed then the first target presenting it self with a playful bounce out of the hedge, and straight in to my line of fire. I had the AAS410K .22 I ranged it with the range finder 43yds so 1.5 mildot hold over THWACK! Over it went with a small flip.

We waited another half hour and nothing so said to Andy lets have a mooch, and Andy headed of to the rear of the garden with his Daystate MK 4 .177 and I went for a wander down the trail

Which leads into the sheep’s field, always some out down here!

As I went through the opening in the hedge very slowly, as there are usually a few out on the grass verge just as you come through? Well there was but it was two pigeons but they clocked me as flew away. I had a quick look around the wood shelter but nothing except to owls waiting for a mouse or something to move as they too were hunting. I couldn’t get a pic as it was to dark under the shelter, but as I walked the length of the shelter there heads followed me as well, I felt I was the hunted lol.

Now I head on down the lane as im a quarter ways down I see two bunny’s out at 55yds,so a stalk was on I paced out 5yds and stopped till there heads went to graze again, then another 5yds stop! They know something is up. I put my right foot to take the next step and they both make for the hedge but not before I take another few steps, and was down in prone position. Because one of them was still out on the edge of the hedge, I waited till it got settled and ranged it 43yds again! I know the hold over from my last shot

THWACK!! Down it goes number two in the bag.

I carried on to the bottom of the trail and spotted about a dozen bunny’s all grazing, some spotted me and others didn’t, you could clearly see there heads as they stood up on there hind legs to see what all the commotion was about. I got my self settled under a very small tree and lay prone and waited, but they were to far away and as it was getting dark I agreed to meet Andy back at the landy just before it got dark.

On my way back up the trail there was three out on the grass verge I mentioned earlier, one ran and the other two still sat there I stalked for about 15yds crouched over like ya do, got with in range 42yds this time THWACK!!! The night was over for it there!

I meet up with Andy and he also had two from the garden and one was 51yds a nice shot there buddy, after a cuppa tea or two we took a drive around the hole sheep field, as they were in another field, and this is where it got interesting we were on fire! There was quiet a few out some nice long shots too on the lamp, Andy was unlucky in one respect a great shot but the bunny was to near its hole and kicked its way down, and on inspection nothing to find DOH!!

We had a really good evening
