Dawn B 212 Posted May 23, 2010 Report Share Posted May 23, 2010 I personally think it a noble sport, a real mans sport, you have to have balls of steel to face a thousand pound bull that can kill you in a stroke much more testing than fox hunting,shooting,or coursing all of witch i used to enjoy people who hunt and say it cruel are hypocrites, that my opinion how many peopole die in other field sports er" none! Hey, I have no problem with a fair test, but its unfair and always the outcome the same. Lets see how their steel balls perform if the Bull wasnt exhausted and has had all its neck muscles severed so it cannot lift its head. Dont forget thats how the big tough matador kills it! I tend to agree on the condeming another mans sport part. The bull is well looked after all its life and is hardly majourly distressed cutting round the ring trying to smash th matador. In my eyes theres blood so it looks horrific but the death is swift, one sword cut preferable, 2 barely acceptable. Far far worse things happen on this planet of our than bullfighting. TOMO 28,419 Posted May 24, 2010 Report Share Posted May 24, 2010 In all fairness @least they let the bulls have a turn.Dont know what its called but they let a herd chase them all around the streets.quite a few are seriously hurt.but i agree i wouldnt go see this personally.i worked as a killer in a slaughter house for a few year when i was younger,and even cattle deserve some quick demise. Your talking about the bull run in the northern spanish town of pamplona, its a week long festival the bulls are turned out early in the morning, evry one wears white, and the idea is to run along side the bulls and pat there backs with your hand. they also have a kids bull run with adults dressed as bulls, its a bigtourist atraction now, and its impossible to book a hotel when its on. there are suprisingly few deaths allthough some one was killed last year, loads of injurys though Quote Link to post Share on other sites

It takes a lot of skill and experience to do what they do, and a Bull fighter puts his life at serious risk each time he steps in to the ring to entertain the people, not just any old schmuck can get in there and do it. I personally would love to watch a bull fight live and I can't see why so many people on here would be so vocal against the sport after the way us and our sport has been treated and looked down up on in recent times? I'm led to believe that if the bull is particularly good then it is allowed to live, so it's not always the same out come. don't believe everything the anti media feeds us. 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Since that time I have run with bulls, seen bulls on the ranches and have been in the ring with young fighting cows and have killed 2 2year old bulls. To be honest I can hardly be arsed to explain it here to such ignorant people but a few things I need to add..... The bull is at its most dangerous point as its killed, yes it has been tired out but it is still at its most able to kill a man or horse. When it first comes into the ring it charges blindly and is at its easist to work with, after its speed of foot and blind aggression is controlled the it concentrates all its attention more and more on the man and small muleta then it is at its most dangerous. It isnt a sport, no one who defends it will call it such. As for matadors being cowards I would love to take anyone who says that with me to spain and put them in the ring with a 2 year old cow (when they are tested for bravery and breeding selection). And a young matador isnt judged till he has under gone his first servere wound. To come back from that and stand in front of a chargeing bull, keeping ones feet still and takeing the bulls charge around ones body with nothing but a small piece of cloth hung on a stick. If you want to comment on someone elses passion in life then have the good grace to at least study it first and learn actual facts. The worrying thing is some of the comments one this thread have been taken off anti sites,at least it seems to to me. I'm no expert on Bull fighting, but Some of the ignorance this lot are coming out with is as bad as what we'll get from the antis for what ever type of hunting it is that we choose to do.
