Why go shooting windows out with a catty? Thats definitely not going to get you any permission. With the amount of farmers renting land these days you will probably get the wrong house anayway.
-
Thats utter bollocks for a start. There is a farm near me for sale, 199 acres of prime arable land. Like the rest of Lincs it will be hooching with game. The largest land owner in the county (15,000 acres) started life as a builder. I know another bloke in north Northumberland with 10,000 acres who started life as a butcher. Dale Farm (the traveller site) was sold to them. Land comes up for sale all the time, in large and small quantities.

Wonder how many of the big spenders will be on the next dog for sale thread saying 'would have had that if you were closer'?

I don't get this about back garden, shooting people usually bang on about it. Are you telling me that farmers bought the land like I bought my back garden? Land was taken off the commoner and split into estates and which have been then handed down the family, they work the land and live on the land which was handed down. They can also lease out the land. They get tax breaks for growing food and on their tools, car etc, susbsidies and they are owners of land which they can then sell off to build on. They even get paid not to grow food on some fields. Now I have a garden and I grow some thin

Best breeds are New Zealand or California Whites. Good meat rabbits. Most of the continentals use wire cages for their meat rabbits, similar to battery chickens. It also makes cleaning out easiers as the waste just drops to the floor. Given enough food, a breeding trio would give you enough meat for a family of four. There was an old war time book called Raising Rabbits and Chickens on kitchen scraps. John Seymours books are also pretty good.

unlacedgecko replied to jamie1985's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
When I lived in Colchester I would beat for the keeper at Braxted Park Estate. They are just the other side of Tiptree. Plenty of work parties in the summer as well. Real friendly bunch of people. The shoot is pheasant and partridge. http://www.braxtedpark.co.uk/contact.cfm Braxted Park Estate Witham Essex CM8 3EN Tel: +44 (0) 1621 892305 Fax: +44 (0) 1621 892840 Email: office@braxtedpark.co.uk -
Please do. I now have £1200 worth of galvinised steel runs on order with Tolvi. They should have arrived today. After 4 phone calls to them today I find out that they are still in production. Unfortunately I have already paid for them...
-
I spoke to them today now that you mention it Dotty. I was trying to get hold of Tolvi, and 118247 gave me their number as Tolvi Northern. According to the young man of the phone, they used to be part of Tolvi, but they parted company after 18months of bad experiences. I will be looking at their webiste after this message, as I still need some cabins for my terriers.

Have a look on the ELC website. There is a scheme called PE FE/HE. If it is your first degree/level 3 learning qual they MOD will pay ALL tutition fees, not just the £1000/year that the basic ELC will pay. As has been said, you will need to retrain and get some civilian quals. In the real world no one gives a f**k that you can do an APFT in 09.30mins, or apply a CAT to your mate while under fire. Rape the Army for all you can, they take enough from you. Bleed them dry. Make sure that you get your full resettlement grant, and use your SLC every year before you leave. No one will thank you -

I have received a reply from ITV. Dear xxx, Thank you for your email regarding Wildlife Patrol. We apologise for the delay in your response however the production team have sent the following:- "Many thanks for your email in regards to the Wildlife Patrol episode shown on the 9th of August. The episode shown featured an incident in Scotland where suspects were charged under the Protection of Wild Mammals (Scotland) Act 2002. This is an Act under Scottish legislation where as you state, there are allowances of using dogs to 'flush out' foxes but only if the -
Do a Google search for vets in your area, then phone them up and ask. Probs get less hassle doing that than on here!

I don't know anything about bull dogs or bull baiting, but most cattle herding dogs (ACD etc) are small, agile and quick. I can remember as a lad watching a pair of farm collies take it in turns to bait a large continental beef bull. This animal was 1500kgs plus. He was loose in a hemmel with a feed passage 3ft above. The dogs would take it in turns to jump down and rag on his head. He was trying to smash them against the wall or the floor. When he cornered one dog the other would nip at his hocks to turn him. The dogs were swapping every 10-15 seconds. These dogs were farm collies, pr

Theyre used for breaking the dog off of its quarry. Ive only seen one dog which would need one, all others Ive seen loose interest rapidly after the quarry is dead. Mostly used with terrier blooded dogs. Pretty standard kit for those that worked strong dogs from what I understand. Im sure those in the know will explain in more depth. thanks for that ,i think i just stick 2 my size 9 lol Use a break stick and you won't damage your dog, or what ever its got in its mouth. They are ideal for breaking up fights between terriers as well!
-
Dances, you get some stick on here I know, but this thread is a good one. If you do make any more of these I will definetly buy one for the terriers.
-
Get a new cz 16". Then you will know that it is manufactured for the length, and you don't have the possibility of the cutting and re-proofing going wrong. And you will definintely know the history of the rifle, no risk of bore pitting etc.

The DDA was complied with close interaction with the UK Kennel Club. It is no surprise that the Dogo, Tosa and Fila were not recognised by the UK KC at the time of the ban. The DDA is more to do with breed politics and snobbery than it is to protect the public. Some of the anti breed specific legislation website will explain this better than I can. Most members of the authorities (police, judicary etc) and other organisations (RSPCA etc) wouldn't know a pit bull if it bit them on the arse. I remember a few years ago the head of the authority making decisions on the destruction of pit

The foxes aren't being bred to be pets. It is part of quite a well known Russian experiment into the domestication of wild canids. The friendliest of each litter was selected for breeding. I think that it is a load of rubbish as well re the badger/fox/rabbit digging. Has anyone made any complaints to ITV? here is a copy of the email I have sent them; Dear Sir/Madame, I was watching this programme on ITV Player recently (I had unfortunately missed the live broadcast due to work commitments). The episode shown on the 9 Aug 2011 featured an alleged badger digging incident on the banks of the River Clyde, near Glasgow. At approximately 10.00 into the programme the voice over states that hunting foxes with dogs is a criminal offence. This is incorrect. Although the
