What a peach!! Lurchers ARE mongrels. Just like the Labradoodle! I think you will find most folks mongrels on here are far from useless. Bred to do a job. Dogs breeding was originally 'altered' to allow them to do a specific job. And very few could now do that job they were bred for. Even the pure breeds - from whippies to cockers. The difference between working dogs and show dogs is huge. Working cocker types would be laughed out of a show ring, just as show cockers would never make the grade out in the field. It's not like that in the US. The vast majority of sighthound rescue like Greyhounds, etc. will not adopt to a home that wants to hunt the dog. Extremely specific contracts are also the norm, requiring fenced yards, no kenneling (dog must be kept the house), dog is never to be allowed off lead, that kind of thing. It is also increasingly difficult to get a dog of any kind through many shelters or rescues. The rescue community and general public regard anyone who keeps an intact dog as irresponsible and most will not place a dog with someone who keeps dogs that are not spayed or neutered.

The rescue I help here in the UK also have an open mind with regards to rehoming. They believe the best home is what is best for the dog, and often an ex working dog will be rehomed to a working home. But with organisations like PETA, its easy to see how extreme some groups want to take 'things'.

I had the (obviously incorrect )impression the even the UK still had the concept of free speech. Does it not make sense to preform a quick scan of what ever you download before running it?? You can change the settings on limewire pro to filter out the garbage and never show you again in the next search. Download the basic limewire, and for you first search - search limewire pro Music wise I think its one of the best. For programs and movies and bigger files - try torrents. Azureus is simple for downloading torrents and there are hundreds of torrent sites available. For complete peace of mind you could use newsgroups. I spend about £30 every other week for 8 dogs at present. Tripe, minced chicken and beef plus chicken/turkey wings. Butchers pay to have bones taken away so generally if you offer a small amount and make clear its for the dogs they will let you have them fairly cheaply. We get more and more each week from our butcher for less and less - it does help if you support them a little too and buy your meat from them aswell. Also made friends with the local egg man. We get his damaged eggs for free as long as we collect. I get 'past their sell by date' veggies free from my local co-op. Raw adde
