Probably Been Done To Death.
Lenmcharristar replied to Barbarian1990's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
ts a hit or miss affair this one, if you know the said dogs and dug to them then you know what your getting but if not then your taking a man at his word. however, sometimes circumstances change very quickly in peoples lives through illness, divorce, or just packing it in, hopefully thats the dogs your buying that have been good, its the stranger that sells week in week out thats most likely gona pull the wool over your eyes. they use the usuall excuses for selling and the dogs have not got a mark on them. the shite on the merry go round needs pts not passed from pillar to post -

shes the one I was on about in the other post, she was the 1st black terrier I seen work, then was bred to frank the border. My uncle loved that terrier more than my aunt ffs lol she was a great worker, that was about 95 I 1st seen her, and it was up at j's farm, I think she was nuttal bred too I will find out of him, think there's nothing of her knocking about either, another pitty out of the litter there was 5 or 6 pups, only 1 came out like the sire the rest was all black, and we know that the pup worked great too and died below ground in the dunes. as off the others I don't know -

My mate seen this pup, said its like a shrew. Typical of the shit nuttalls turning out these past 20 odd years.I have had four terriers from Brian over the last fifteen years , three were purchased one was gifted .All came as pups at 8 weeks old , all went on to be good workers below ground , they all stayed with me to their end. I would not have any dog in my kennels that was not up to its intended job , i personally found Brians dogs to be early self entering , solid honest hard working dogs. Different men different standards.....of all the nuttall dogs ive seen in the field i wouldn't

do you still work the short Russell type? you don't see many over here.I have one here 10" tts, he's a fcuking law upon himself lol, most protective dog we've ever owned. Does what he wants when he wants and is bursting with character. Great little busher and ratter. But he would still be second choice to my old Patterdale x lakeyours is great with dogs and livestock as I broke him to them when training him on the gun, his son hates both but loves people, they have had many a sore face with unsuspecting hedgehogs, both great ratters, only prob with retrieving shot game was they chomped the shi -

There's a few folk who usually stick with a certain breed or type and refuse to change but I would love a lakey and I agree to see a underdog defeat the odds and give it 100% has got to be a great feeling id like another lakey to help keep them in a working home, but I have total respect for all terriers that work below as it takes guts, brains, and nose. terriers are my fav type of the dog breeds. theyre wee characters lol, Deffo real characters mate no doubt and very true any working dog should be respected and given the credit there due and a lot of old working breeds are going down the pa -

ive had a few terriers in my time, and every one done what was expected of them, patt, russell, bull russell, lakey, border. the most mental was the bull russell, totally mute, defo a locator dog. for me i like to see an underdog doing well, loved them all. -
