The advantage of white skin is that it absorbs Vitamin D from sunlight. Paler skin is more prevalent the further you move from the equator because of the inclement weather.     I'm still trying to understand how you're equating skin pigmentation with athletic superiority in certain fields. Again genetic variances are going to help/hinder different people in different situations. Dogs is a fantastic example.
