  1. Yep scrap/off cuts, when I'm doing the stone work on churches their's usually other trades working on site as well, I always try and blag any lead off them, I smelt it down and use it to fix stainless steel dowels with in the stone (old fashioned way of doing it). I've just shortened my tubes down to 6 1/2", I used your formula and it came out at 5.6" so I added a bit on for fitting and not to max them out, thanks so much for info, it's increased the power most definitely.
  2. Congrates Emitto, that looks really smooth and elegant.
  3. My draw length is 28" so I've cut my tubes to 7 1/2 " I might shorten them a bit say down to 7", their not maxin out, I'm new to tubes so experimenting, as said 9.5 bb's fly out and cuts cans lovely, however the 12mm lead seems a bit slow, I'm thinking of buying a 10mm mold I've loads of scrap lead from churches that I have worked on.
  4. I've just put Lime coloured Dub-Dub single tube 4.8 id - 8.5 od on my latest, shooting 9.5 bb and their flying out, well pleased with it. Atb Chisler
  5. I want to keep this one, it feels like silk in my hand yet does not slip or move, I would make another one, this one took me 2 evenings, all carved out by hand with hammer and chisel, finished off wet rubbed with diamond pads,no power tools used (I'm a bit of a 'Ludite when it comes to carving ) if you don't mind me asking what would you think it's worth. cheers Chisler
  6. I've just come in from shooting my 2nd oak one, bands stopped play, one band at the pouch end has started to rip, must have put around 500 shots through it.
  7. Evening Gents, I was given the go ahead to copy the R10 designed by a member on the Slingshot Community Forum, the first one I used the 1940's oak board with ply, I'm not 100% sure of the strength of the oak (being 75ys old) so I've left the forks quite chunky. When I finished it I felt that it didn't do justice to the design (plus me adding a palm swell) so for the second one I've used best quality Welsh Slate which I am 101% sure of (170 million yrs old), I'm a 7th generation stone carver in my family and have been working this grade of slate for the past 40 years. Their are now only 2 mines
  8. Now I know why people on youtube have such large rolls of theraband, had to make up quite a few so far myself, still like it though.

  13. That looks great, bet the handle feels nice in the hand.
  14. Cheers, as i said shoots lovely , the way it fits me must makes all the angels right hence possible improvement and constancy in my shooting.
  15. How do chaps, the addiction carries on, after having the heads up on possible danger using the old oak board, I have used said oak sandwiched between to pieces of miralite 3 ply, finished it off with a couple of coats linseed oil, however the ply still seemed a bit insipid so rubbed some dark tan boot polish over it. Of late I've been struggling with my accuracy, still learning, with this one I've been shooting 3/8 bb's instead of my 12mm leads, there flying out, really pleased with it, my accuracy has improved 4 fold, it fits my hand perfect and comfortably, think this has helped a lot. the
