    seems to be a few kicking about the north east at the minute zandy, lovely birds they are nice shot. Thanks Buckshot, definitely a huge influx of them this year, missed them last year but this year has certainly made up for it but no shirt eared owls yet, we had quite a few last year from Oct onwards...

    Bohemian waxwing, a beautiful winter migrant from the likes of Siberia, they spend a few winter months in tthe UK, a flock of 50+ are feeding on the berries of the Rowan trees at the end of my road

    Thank you Tilly, I use a canon 7d mkii but to be perfectly honest it's more about the lens/glass on the end of the camera body... Bit like a rifle scope or binos, the better quality the glass is the more superior the image, a little field craft being able to get close also goes a long long way

    Hi fella, I use a Canon 7D mkii with a Canon 500 F4 lens or Canon 300 F4, I have a 1.4 TC also if further reach is required... I have been down the road of using long zoom lenses such as the Tamron 150-600mm but the quality just isn't anywhere near the same as the prime lenses... Expensive but worth saving long and hard for... The Hare was about 3ft away from me at one point, so close I couldn't focus on it A kit lens would've been good
