  1. count your self lucky like any thing you can have to much of a good thing. Not sure I understand pal, have I missed something ??? because down south we have far to many of them and they are eroding other wildlife, what Brian May fails to mention is they eat leveret,s, hedgehogs and dig out rabbit setts, a nights lamping near me could be as bad as seeing twenty or more badgers and very little else Ah, I see... thanks for clearing that up.

  14. What bird is that? They look like meadow pipets to me Nik... They're the little birds that cuckoos secretly lay the egg in, then the 2 small host parents feed a chick that gets over easily 3-4 times the size of them...

  16. Seen 1 female with 2 males in same area but not heard her calling/bubbling... I have been on Xeno Canto to listen to female call sonknow what to listen for... I'm starting to get proper interested and intrigued by cuckoos but can find very limited info on the net... Any good websites/forums etc you can point me to ??? I know you the man for cuckoo studies ?
  17. I'm working on it Pal, I know where there are 5 in one area ( seen 4 but heard 5), 3 in another been seen and heard and 1 in another site but only heard although didnsee last year assuming same one so I'm sure there'll be some photos to come soon when I get the time
