  5. Thanks Dyktos, I’ve got a fortnight off so hopefully get to spend some good days in the hide and see what turns up ? Had couple hours this morning topping feeders up and putting bait out but no camera, 1st ever time I’ve witnessed a Kestrel flying in trying to grab a coal tit, thought it was a sparrowhawk at first but watched him, missed his prey and went and sat in a tree watching for 10 mins but didn’t return.
  6. Now got Male and female reds visiting daily, i’d already named the female Ronnie so thought Reggie would be ideal name for the male ? From a few hours in my hide today...
  7. Thanks Arry pal, I’ll certainly be doing my best to better it ha ha... As long as they keep visiting I’ll keep feeding them and photographing them, got some plans for a jumping set up ?
  8. Buzzing today as I now have 2 red squirrels visiting my hide regular, not content with the 20+ hazelnuts and handful of peanuts I put out for them, they decided to attack the sunflower hearts in the bird feeders ? Here they are making short work of the hazelnuts
  9. Xmas shopping in Newcastle today, visited a small Thai restaurant which is always heaving with Asian people to sample some food to see what we’ve got to look forward to, proper tasty... Beef Pad Thai and Chicken Gai Ped Mamuang ?
  10. Mackem - how lucky must you be to be travelling and visiting such fantastic parts of the world... So looking forward to trying vasts amount of street foods and seeing some amazing sights.. Doubt I’ll be on any scooters, Tuk Tuks all the way ?
  11. She got eyes like a hawk and a nose like a blood hound mate, there’ll be none of that going on from me mate whether they be Male/female or whatever they are, she’d chop me bollocks off anyways if I was that way inclined ?
  12. Up my way mate we still use carrier pigeons never mind travellers cheques ?
  13. Thanks very much for the info and advice Max, really appreciated... We are there for 14 nights, so much to see, try and do but hopefully fit everything in and then some. Probs going to take £1500 cash/travelers cheques and we’ll have our cards as back up.
  14. Me and the Mrs are heading to Thailand (Patong/Phuket) for a fortnight in March, just wondering if anyone who’s been knows how much spending money is needed ??? All hotels, transfer etc are already booked and paid for, we are self catering but would like to do some day trips, sight seeing and taste the street food as well as some nice restaurants... I thought £1500 would be more than enough but Mrs reckons £2000... Any hell or advice please ???
  15. Nice one Chev... Cracking bird, we’ve had a small influx of them here in the Northeast, hoping to catch up with some if I can get some time...
  16. Keep the camera handy for when she visits mate and get some pics posted... Ive never really thought about your theory but yes, the eye of a predator like a Sparrowhawk, Gos or the likes has a definite evil about it, certainly gets the adrenaline going when seen close up.
  17. Glad you enjoyed them JJM, much appreciated.
  18. Thank you very much Arry, it’s appreciated. Wildlife photography is my real passion other than my 2 whippets and my only hobby really, I do a bit of landscape photography now and then but predominantly wildlife.
