Darkie69 replied to Daz87's topic in General Airgun Discussion
well, looks like I'm putting the lightning back together and then onto the TX for strip, clean up and reassemble. -

Maybe a vid of Vis and his technique could be the order of the day if he is willing and up to it. He'll be able to show us minions how to do it properly for we are not worthy

Need Help With My Scope - A Bit Of Help Required.
Darkie69 replied to Andy83's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Hi Andy As Silentshot mentioned the pallet will cross the line of sight (crosshairs) twice once at a close range and at the distance you have zeroed at due to the trajectory curve (unless you have zeroed at maximum height of the curve) but you will always have two points that will be the same on your aim point. One will be on the way up (close) and one on the way down (distance) I know there is a post (i think on the technical section) that shows this really well. If I can find it I will put in my next post. Chairgun pro which is free download shows this really well on the graph after -

Thanks for the offer, it's reassuring to have a back up if I come across a problem not that I'm hoping to of course. I'll get some samples of the pellets you mentioned to see which one suits the barrel the best after sorting the poundage. Thanks again -

Thanks for the info Tim, I was looking at the transformation job Matty has done on his TX and from what youtube videos I've seen it does look fairly easy so I will attempt it as Crieff is slightly further afield than I anticipated. I'll check out the AA owners club and see what info they have as well. Running that close to the wind if I put in the wrong pellet (Accupel or RWS superdome) it would put me over and that's not a good thing but the RWS Super H point is consistently under. -

IT was great to see the TX in all it's transformation stages, I wish I had the same skill and patience that you've got, It is rare talent to transform a 'rust bucket' back into a working piece of art. You've done a cracking job there Matty along with Toms help. Made me want to pull mine apart and stain the stock while giving it a service (well maybe later). Well done it's been a good read and certainly inspirational. just waiting for the pics of your hunt now..Atb -

As a wise man once said "nothing ventured, nothing gained" will be interesting to hear the results if you do try it though. Have fun.

Well done, you've obviously taught him well, be careful he might give you a run for the money.

I done the same after using chairgun, just printed it off cut round the edge and used a bit of paper glue on the back to put it on the lens cap.

I'm looking at getting some work done on my TX 200 HC .22 just to get the poundage down a touch as she is running a touch close to the 12lbs limit. (11.9) as I found out after running several shots over the Chronograph. Does any know of a gunsmith they have used / recommended in the Central Belt or slightly further afield. Any help will always be appreciated.

good point secretagentmole, but i am an insomniac. 2-3 hours kip. In that case sir it will be a wise investment, especially if you are surrounded by insomniac bunnies! or if the owner is looking at wide scale control and everything goes, the phrase in my head is saying 'if i ain't get any nor are you'

ive a bipod on a 25.06 mate with quite of recoil...... ive never had any bother and find a harris swivel bipod a great help at long range shots. what is "the prone" by the way?? Just to explain the prone position (ex mob will know) it's lying flat on the ground with one knee drawn slightly out and up towards your waist (usually the same leg as the rifle in your shoulder) as this gives slightly more stability when pointing naturally at the target. From above it you could liken it to a line around a dead body (just the outline). I think Villaman done a post on shooting technique and he

I think it's called Sod's Law, it's one of those million to one chances that happen 9 times out of ten to quote Terry Pratchett.

A handy page too, Added this to the bookmark for reference. Ideal since accupel don't seem to have the weight on the tin unless I've gone blind

I use the same method as Skot, At least it will be consistent not sure it you can say the same if you bite your nails though.

I've seen that movie and know exactly what you mean, Tapeworm just isn't in the same league

Not like chicken then, Hand to hand combat is slightly different with a rabbit than a chicken though
