  1. I only do it for one particular permission due to the fact Joe Public can be quite near and some one could call the boys in blue. I don't do it for my work and other permissions. Better safe than sorry as there's nothing worse then having a Heckler Koch stuck in the nape of your neck Lol
  2. Thanks everyone. It surprised the lads when i got to my feet as they weren't expecting me to be around, so if they couldn't see me (them being hunters an all) then Joe Public isn't likely to see me either especially since the field I was in is close to a public footpath so I thought subtlety was the order of the day . The added the advantage is my outline is broken up so I can get closer without too much spooking. Wouldn't bother with it at night and in thick woodland. I bet they were either surprised and run cos the shock or they weren't supposed to be there
  3. Nice shooting, can't beat the early morning starts, everything just seems serene and peaceful before the rest of the world wakes up.
  4. Well after checking the zero at the club last night and getting permission from the Land Owners I thought I'd spend a few hours in the early morn to see what was about apart from me. Setting the alarm for 05.30 I finally got up and listened for the birds singing only to hear my bird snoring. Well I call it it snoring, it's more like a chainsaw going through corrugated tin . Still my luck was in and I hadn't woke her up. Making the usual phone calls to 101 and getting the details put across I headed for the happy hunting ground. First time I've shot it in the morning and suddenly realised mi
  5. Nice take-down, strike 3 for the TX, well done matey ,
  6. I'm with Den on this one! I think i said it in your last post (Hotline to Police HQ) that you got some some one just giving you a hard time for the hell of it. All I can't think of is that it's a 'tree-hugging, grass smoking, vermin loving wacko just waiting for you to turn up so they can get their kicks. Time to go ghillie suited & booted and play watch the shrub.
  7. Again you're working miracles on a gun that looks as though it had been used as a shed door stop in all weathers. It's looking pretty damn good now. Can't believe it's the same gun (not that I'm doubting you of course). well done Matty.
  8. Missus is working but up early (pre sun up) so I think up to the permission and see what's about. Hopefully I'll have something to post
  9. not often you get chances like that, as you said daft rabbit
  10. Don't think even a comedian could write up a sketch like that, still the perseverance paid off, well done matey
  11. If you have read some of Matty's posts you will see one of recent refurb jobs, personally I'd sooner trust him than some RFD's out there.
  12. Maybe you have an admirer from the A.L.F just wanting to piss you off every time to go to your permission.
  13. Hmmm two in the bag, one in the bush and wet, time for a cold shower . Good wee story and well done.
  14. just need a permission without so many lumps and bumps in it to try it. I managed a few bulls eyes at 1000yds with a Lee Enfield No4 (7.62mm) in a high right to left wind at Century range some years ago (13 clicks off target) managed to upset the boys with the sniper rifles lol
  15. I have the .22 HC can't fault it for stopping power or accuracy.
  16. I'm using a similar size at the moment (brand unmentionable for fear of being laughed at) however changing to a nikko sterling Laserking (courtesy of Vizulak) 4.5-14 x 50 as soon as the mount arrives. going to have to go through chairgun all over again to set it up. But it will be worth it I think.
  17. Don't suppose you got the link, could do with a giggle
  18. I don't think you'll be disappointed at all, you'll have to let me (us) know how you get on at the longer ranges, out of interest what scope you using?
  19. These guys do tester packs, give it a look the prices don't look too bad. Pellet Perfect
  20. Thanks guys, ironically I usually get more than this and at one point I think the most was 13 inside the premises and outside. but at one point i'm sure I used toshoot one and half a dozen would turn up for the funeral but it's quitened down now so I only do a shoot there every 6-8 weeks or when I start seeing a few when I walk past the canopies. Just as well I have reasonably bosses (either that or they don't want to pay for an outside contractor to come in)
  21. Well now I'm on the AAOC forum as well I can keep my eye open. for events, however although I had to work the results paid off and I don't have a size 10 tuck in my derrière . The shoot was 18.30 so not to mislead anyone it was morning, should have used the 24 hour clock. Good news is that since i worked the weekend i'll be having a long weekend this week. I think a trip to the permission is in order. Glad you had the weather on your side cos it was crap up here and I'm pretty damn envious I couldn't get there to share in the frivolities next time for sure
  22. Well done the TX won't let you down
  23. Guessin it's a .177 but they are great guns to shoot, I would love to think what my .22 TX could do after a stage one tune as it shoots nice now without it. quite consistent at knocking down the rabbit HF target on the smallest setting at 35m. As I said before I think it would be very difficult to tempt me to another springer (unless a TX .177). Enjoy yourself
  24. An envious achievement which I hope to emulate one day given the right circumstances. Well done to you and your mate. next stop a coke bottle lid lol
