    Edited to add. I even got a goldie to try bring them in. I bought a big bag of niger and a feeder but i gave it away it used to put me in bad form not seen any birds going near it known theirs hundreds of finches across the road.haha.

    Yeh mate try get a few pics up.all i get is sparrows blue tits dunnocks the very odd chaffinch a pair of doves and poxy magpies.and only fifty foot to the side of my house theres a massive park thats full of all sorts of finches i always see them flying by but they never stop to feed. What seeds you feeding pete ? Im feeding sunflower hearts hemp no mess mix peanuts and energy mix from lidl.

    I'm the same. Spend a fortune on black sunflower and I get allsorts of small birds. Last year the winter siskins stayed on to breed and then brought their young round for it. I get sunflower hearts five euros for two half kilos the birds love them.

    Lol... when i used do gardening couple times theyve landed on the botton end of the mower whilst cutting... there tame as anything they are how close they used come when was weeding or turning a bed over was mad . i use to go into work with a mate some saturdays he was a bus driver so i use to do the town service with him, anyway the shed they use to do the spanering in always use to have a robin in there and at bait time they use to feed it bits of cake and sandwhiches from there bait boxes, you could put food on top of your shoe and he would come and take it off.     Tru n l running stuff on its own terms in the daylight and at the right time of the season shows what your dog is really capable of but as you say a few do's on the lamp is good fun, some good races can be found aswell on well ran land but at a fraction of what you get in the day n you always have to be honest with yourself, "GOOD RUN THAT", "BUT WOULD IT HAVE CAUGHT IT IN THE DAY"..true had a good morning on them this morningFB_IMG_1486312523482.jpg Did the dogs get all them pal if so was it bushing of ferrets.

    I was having mooch with the dogs this morning and as i was walking across the field i noticed to robins knocking fcuk out of each other so i walked over to get a better look and got to about two feet from them i stood there for a good minute watching them they didnt seem to care that i was so close they were going hell for leather it was only when the pup ran past them they got spooked one just about had the energy to make it to the ditch the other couldnt even move he was that tired i had to pick him up and put him on a branch there agressive little fcukers.

    For me its not about getting big numbers just one or two for the pot does me. The land i hunt you need to pull a ticket an wait your turn haha theres that many on it the fcuking rabbits are on moterbikes. I just like getting out for a few hours amd seen my dogs work. Some of the best days ive had i came home emty handed. Enjoy your own dogs while you can and not worry worry what others are doing.     I think he taught at Lichfield and I believe he had a cottage at Whittington or thereabouts, just out of interest does anybody know if the cottage is still there? Did any body visit or know where it is\was?The cottage is still there and attracts many visitors, ranked just behind wordsworths cottage and Shakespeares house. Haha.
