Slug ) nuttal's duke ! 83-84 good old Slug, Alan gave her to my friend Rob the last time i dug to her she was 12 , hell of a bitch to work not hard, stay all day bayer, but a nightmare if not in the ground she would not shut up unless she was working, used her son over her grand daughter and thats where it all started for me , Slug was blitz2 to meg J.richardson blood, Sooty92 did you ever find the Photo of the dog you had out of that litter ?.... i had blacks before this blood but nothing as good dog I had .Alan bred the mother.     Does anyone who works terriers and have a line or family of dogs , generations .try or do go further back to what their dogs are and breed back in ?. As start this topic as said I would want if I had the goods as keeping hard dog (same stuff) , going on and coming out in the workers.There's dogs out there really proving themselves but be good to go way back to the breeding too

    I've never done it but got the advice if your dogs arnt that close bred then probably won't matter.

    got a mark on this one other day .lurched had made its way to a burrow I haven't done for a couple of years. Immoveable boulders near entrance but the field over the ct drives shotgun and would have you lifted too. Dug it a few times and got . first time I met digging men there .I'd just got there before them. 3 in a stop. Good terriermen and strong dogs.

    But if your deben had been in range , you would of found the dog. I've only seen a bellman used a bit but obviously there the dogs bollox and you wouldn't be searching everywhere because of your secure range and distance .I know on the deben it says fully waterproof and you could take that with a pinch of salt but modern technology is ahead .with locaters should be in this time and advance

    whose that aimed at?think he meant ken not you Well he must mean Ken as I rarely sell and not to UK think his minds gone LOL Ken has bred hundreds of Parrots a few years back and as for going out he has dogs out on loan and came down mine last year and his dogs were dug to so????so .he's a dealer .is he special because someone keeps dogs for him or he's trying to breed what ? , so he can go digging. U taking the piss. The men out five days a week but they arnt legends or sell dogs

    this dogs grandmother was Levi oakes border , he's had em a lifetime. He sent this to my friend who worked it and would tell you how things are. No acting the bollox with this fella.

    used to be a man , Aw, around that time .he had a dog called ,spate ,and his stuff was off BRI .I believe the man was known and good dogs .

    I wouldn't know that far back with seeing his dogs , a decade on. He a good man on his dogs and a hunting man. I have no photos of mine but my dog was exact same as ,blackie , gm.identical. its brother was a big black dog too , my school buddy owned. Its sister was a cracking fawn bitch and the other sister , a choc bitch went the states.when id tell BRI , about them he wasn't interested and on the other hand sometimes he'd say about others having his strain so hard to know at times

    Who knows the truth. I might of only been fifteen years of age when I had my own working black dog from a pup , I didn't know who nuttal was but saw a picture of my dogs father in the cw , . the man who bred it said then that he could trace the dogs back to a white dog , the country I won't say but where did he come up with this. Some do tell the odd fib , but the dogs we're second to none , except some bit big and too hard .

    Glyn. I agree, it would be interesting to get the full story. A lot of questions could be answered. If Mr Nuttall's written pedigree for Judy in 1975 is taken back through Mr Breay's line to 1920 then its hard to see where his Grandfathers Fell x Bull came in. Buck / Breay did line breed the Dog's sire / Dams Grandsire, but they kept going out to Hunt kennels for stud dogs. Coniston, East Kent, Bedale, Ulleswater, Cockermouth etc.... Up to the 1960's there is every type of terrier in the mix. White, Fell, Border, Brindle, and all of these crosses. Judy Pedigree Image -01.jp

    That's good. Scent been not great always here. A neighbour club pack hunted today, 4 days they were hunting (not the same place lol). The was a few foxes about today and we've hunted this patch about four times lately.last week another neighbors pack hunted with us too. No bother
