I agree about the magpies and all corvids barring choughs
Hence the reason for giving yourself plenty of room to work in a square / rectangular hole. I think the round hole thing come from having a ferreting back ground. I don't see a debate here all I see is advice being given out, and your man taking it as criticism, maybe try and lighten up........" my main man ".

Your a bad man peter. Pmsl.
it would have to be a pretty dopey cat to get caught by a badger but they are an opportunistic hunter and if they stumbled across one that was fecked or not paying attention I would think they might take one but very rarely, I do know of a non excistant animal that seems to, and an area in the Cotswolds that has been having lots of sightings has also had a growing number of domestics and a few dogs disappearing lately ? If you believe in that sort of stuff
what do u think it is?

Totally agree, square or rectangular holes for me depending on how deep you need too go never dug a round hole in my life. Very good advice from 5 feet down.

Not keen on using live critters as long range targets, but,.. 'each to their own'...
Ferreted Prairie Dawgs,...it was, emotional...
Do they bolt from ferrets readily Phil.
What I ment was you'd have a lot more fun, plenty of bolt holes for the little critters too escape from survival of the fittest instead of blowing them to bits with high calibre rounds bit too much over kill for me.
