  1. I'm giving up with this Mitch, you can't build houses on sand mate. Chris
  2. I'm glad you're happy mate. Just a thought though, the average gunshop will recommend the guns that aren't selling as well as others just to shift them. I'm not saying that AGC or BAR have done that necessarily but it's what happens. Chris
  3. Carlo, here's a list of things that were wrong with my guns. Underpowered (all of them 10fpe to 10.6 fpe) despite Daystate saying they weren't. Stiff/siezed bolts (3 of them) Rattling or misaligned shroud (5 of them) Leaks (3 of them) Uncrowned barrel (1 of them) Vibration and 'ting' noise on firing (6 of them) Magazine failure/misalignment (2 of them) Inconsistant velocities (3 of them) Unacceptably loud hammer action (all of them) When I had sorted the power and bolt issues on the 'good' one and put a Huggett silencer on it, it was still bloody loud. The action itself is loud not
  4. I've had three Huntmans and four Regals now. Got rid of the last Regal last week. All were bought brand new. All but one was woefully poor and the good one was average. Either I'm the unluckiest man in the world when it comes to Daystate Huntsman/Regals or they are substandard, overhyped, badly made, overpriced crap. To compare one to an HW100 is just plain silly. Apart from looking nice they just don't match them in any way, shape or form. I liked the looks so much I bought seven but I have finally learned, (I'm a bit thick), that they aren't worth half the price. The BSA Ultra is a far su
  5. This is true, I have both and the rifle is definitely quieter than the carbine. The carbine is still very quiet though. Chris
  6. Mitch, I think Dave should be moving to Brighton with his Gaystate. What d'you reckon? Chris
  7. Said it twice so edited it. Probably worth saying twice though. Ive got a KS with A&M and a Huggett shroud and silencer and a Rowan trigger. Also a full length with A&M and Rowan trigger. They are both better than anything I've had before, and I've had most. Chris
  8. Looks good mate. The best PCP available in my opinion. Chris
  9. It is quiet with the extra silencer mate but long too so not really a carbine. Chris
  10. Very nice pair mate. Chris
  11. I had a MK4is and it was one of the best guns I ever had. I took hundreds of rabbits with that gun and I'd say, if you're thinking of getting one, get it. If it's anything like the one I had it'll be worth the money. I got a bit radgy when it got close to service time but quite a few RFD's service them quite cheaply now, about £70 to £ I believe. Chris
  12. I know what you're saying Rez, honest I do, but use the two side by side and there's only one winner. There are lots of guns better than the Regal too, not just the HW. AA S410/ 510, BSA R-10, BSA Ultra, BSA Scorpion, even some of the Brococks, and all cheaper too. Daystate take the piss mate, their marketing is spot on which is why they can charge top quid but as far as performance is concerned their mechanical rifles are lagging behind. Their 'Harper patent hammer' is just a weaker version of what Theoben used years ago. The electric rifles are very good in my experience but that's a diff
  13. What usually happens is that the rabbits in the near vicinity go on alert and either do that tense up thing and look for the danger or run a couple of yards and stop then do the tense up and look around. That's with a quiet PCP.When you shoot a rabbit with a loud PCP it's mates are aware of where the noise came from and generally bolt to safety. This is just what I've found over about 35 years of shooting with air rifles . If the Regal works for you Carlo then I'm really, genuinely pleased for you. It is probably the most beautiful air rifle on the market. Chris
  14. It looks great mate. They are a fantastic looking rifle. I just can't help thinking, and it's through experience, that you've bought a great looking, distinctly average rifle. If it works for you, after all the advice on this thread, then fair play. Good luck mate. When that second rabbit runs off, and you've spunked £150 on a Huggett, you'll realise that the Harper hammer is a very loud device. Sorry I can't be more enthusiastic, been there, done that, bought a Weihrauch. Chris
  15. They don't have to sell the HW mate, it sells itself so they push the gun that's not so popular. Chris
  16. I think it varies mate. You certainly don't get less shots but I think my gun was pretty well set up before I changed the cylinder so I haven't noticed a difference in shot count. Chris
  17. I got 70 from my KS, now I've got an A&M cylinder I still get 70 but it's much lighter and, more importantly, better balanced. Chris
  18. Great looking and very pointable but the chances of getting one that doesn't need fettling are slim to none. I got my second from the AGC and had to return it. They swapped it no problem but it was still shite. Don't take any notice of their 'Test Certificate' , it has no bearing on the gun's actual performance. My third one was ok but under powered and, with help from some people on the 'net, I upped the power to around 11fpe. They are loud compared to most other PCPs too. I flogged it last week and bought a full length HW100 to go with my carbine. Honestly mate the HW is a far better gun.
  19. He hasn't been and gone and bought a Daystate has he? Chris
  20. As you know VM, I've had three Classics and two Regals. I wouldn'y buy another with washers mate. Daystate is no longer the quality manufacturer it once was, despite all the tears on the D.O.C. Get your money back and buy another HW. Chris
  21. They are cracking little guns and, as villaman says, they will match any gun out there for accuracy. In my experience BSA barrels prefer the larger head sizes. Chris
