  1. Most of the experts, including Darrin (XTX) recommend Abbey SM50 for O ring lubrication mate. Hth Chris
  2. The pay and conditions for postal workers is so crap nowadays that it only attracts the fcukwits. Royal Mails overheads fall and profits rise because of lower pay and higher prices. We suffer while the shareholders laugh all the way to the bank. Have you seen your postman/woman lately? Not what you'd choose to carry anything of value. Chris
  3. Happy New Year Mitch and to everyone else on HLF. Have a great 2014. Chris
  4. I hate JLS Davy, they just can't sing! Chris
  5. Oh, OK then. I thought it was a bit of an uphill struggle. Chris
  6. I give up. Maybe you should read the thread back again. I don't drink by the way. Chris
  7. Davy, I'm agreeing with you for flips sake. Chris
  8. I was just agreeing with your post mate. The HW is a great rifle but "Auto Aim"? Chris
  9. My thoughts too Davy. Great rifle but let's be realistic. Chris
  10. I have both and it's as villaman says. The HW has been absolutely faultless, totally reliable and with two mags and a silencer. The Regal has had to be fettled. Paid extra for a (not very good) Airstream mk6 silencer and extra mag. The Regal looks great and is well made but if I was on a pest control job tomorrow morning I'd grab the HW. Chris
  11. Scope choice is as subjective as rifle choice. What seems great to one person will seem poor to another and vice versa. Mamba Lite scopes suit my eyes and I use them on three of my guns. Chris
  12. I put 2 tins of pellets through mine and it made no difference to the stiff bolt. I would have thought that 1000 shots would loosen it up if it was going to loosen up. Get a replacement mate, you paid for a prestige rifle and it's not up to standard. Chris
  13. I had this problem with the first Regal I had. Send it back mate, the bolt should be very easy to cock. The one I have now is as smooth as silk. As above, you shouldn't have that problem with a top end rifle. Chris
  14. The Daystate is prettier but that's about it. I have both in .177. As Vilaman said theres no power curve with the HW, you get two mags and a silencer and it's quieter. I don't think there's anything between them regarding build quality and the Daystate is a nice gun but the HW is better in my opinion. The best thing to do is try both side by side if possible a make your own mind up. Chris
  15. Thanks mate.I agree with you VM. It's the looks that keep drawing me back to the Regal which shouldn't really happen. The KS is a better tool IMO but I've already got one and when that feeling comes upon you and you NEED another gun you have to get one. :-) Chris
  16. That looks superb mate. I was concerned about the noise my Regal makes with an Airstream 6 on it but wondered what else I could use without making it too long. I think I'll have to invest in a Huggett shroud and Belitta. The action noise on the Regal, like the Huntsman Classic, seems loud to the shooter but not so much down range. With a Huggett fitted it should reduce overall noise a fair bit. Thanks Chris
  17. My name's Chris, I've been shooting air rifles for about 35 years and still love hunting as much as I did back then. I thought I'd come on here and have a look round after watching some of Si Pittaways youtube videos, great stuff. I'm looking forward to reading more about falconry too as it's something I'd love to do if I had the time. Thanks for letting me in. Chris
