  1. Really sorry mate but shealy has already claimed it. Atb Chris
  2. It's yours Mac, pm me your address and I'll whizz it to you. Chris
  3. Now then lads. I've got a BSA VC silencer with a half inch UNF thread. It's come off a brand new .177 R10 and has the little white insert. I'm a tart so I've put a Huggett on it but if anyone wants a decent silencer give me a shout on here and you can have it. I've also got a leather Bisley cobra sling. It's new but has a couple of marks on it. Thing is, it should have some brass screw bits on each end but it hasn't. I'll try and put a picture up, but, again, if you want it give me a shout on here. Like I say, shout up on here if either will help you out. Chris
  4. I had this fixation a while back with the Daystate Regal. I bought one when they first hit the shops, it was crap. I bought another about three months later, it was crap. I bought another about three months after that because I'd read that they had improved, it was crap. I bought another about six months later because I love the look of them, it was crap. I bought three more because I kept thinking they cant be that bad, they were crap. For me, the Daystate Regal is the most beautiful, best handling, crappest gun currently available and the sad thing is, I'll probably buy another heap of
  5. Cracking guns mate. Enjoy it. Chris
  6. I didn't know there were still gun shops like that mate, twenty years ago maybe. Up here they're pretty much even calibre wise although there is a local shop which specialises in full bore and shotguns and they still just keep half a dozen air rifles in .22. Chris
  7. I know you have mate, and I've not disagreed with you.I've even started to think, why not just have one in .22, one in .177 and, maybe, one in .25. Then I'm sorted and don't have to worry about regs, electronics, fecking shite Harper valves or anything else. I'd just have to fill up more regularly. Chris
  8. Coming from you Mitch, that's quite a statement. :-) Chris
  9. Just to add. I've had a play today and feck these Ultras are cracking little rifles. I know Mitch has had trouble with BSA customer service and it's wrong that they've treated him how they have, but this little Ultra is a bloomin' marvel. On AAField 5.51 it is honestly pellet on pellet. I know that's a cliche but this rifle actually does it at 40yds. From a full charge it does the first 30 shots with 5fps variation, from an unregged gun I couldn't ask for more. My HuMa regged R10 Super Carbine does 8fps variation and the same with my HW100. What do you lads reckon? £440 for a gun that match
  10. That's true mate, although Chris knows a fair bit. They have always looked after me and I like listening to the old boy's stories. Chris
  11. Wragby mate. The R10 I got from Country Sports of Boston. Chris
  12. Well it's gone back! Safety catch went wangy so I took it back for repair. While I was there I bought an Ultra in .22, plaggy stock with an HW silencer, these new BSA magazines are brilliant. It's a very accurate gun from what I can make out after an hour. The next couple of weeks off work are going to be interesting. Chris
  13. Simon, there are lots of very good rifles that don't have regulators yet still out-perform the Regal. AirArms S410, S510, BSA Scorpion SE to name just three. Even the humble BSA Ultra, although it's shot count is less, has a more consistent sweet spot. When you've established the sweet spot on a non-regulated rifle you can get very good consistency, the Regal, in my experience, just doesn't hold it's own with these rifles. It looks great and handles superbly, but the action is loud and it feels cheap in comparison to rifles that cost much less. An XTX reg and tune will work wonders but, a
  14. V mach kit is the way to go with the 97 full stop and i should no iv had plenty of them top class rifles but do need a tune and polish get it done now dont wait until its bedded in as once the kit is fitted you will just have to bed it in again and may even have to take it apart if the power stays over and it will go over once a kit is fitted and it takes a few tins of pellets to bring her down the benefits of a tune,d and polished rifle will be noticeable strait away less recoil smoother action and very accurate by far And less noise atvbmac  It's sett
  15. I thought of tbt because I had one in a 95 and it was very good but I'll take advice on other options. Chris
  16. No it's blued mate. It isn't too twangy yet but they tend to get worse after a tin of pellets if I remember right. The accuracy is very good straight away though so after a run in I'll strip and polish and maybe put a tbt drop in kit in it. Chris
  17. That's a good point mate, I hadn't thought of that. I did try the sporter and I've had one before but the thumbhole just felt better so I paid the extra (£70 I think). Chris
  18. Thanks mate, didn't think I was preaching at all though, just saying like.I think I'll do what you say VM. Get it bedded in first and then a strip and polish. I didn't keep the last 97 I had long enough to do that. I do like the thumbhole stock, it fits me just right. Chris
  19. Went and got myself a brand new one today, in .22 with a wood stock and adjustable butt pad. I put a Nikko Stirling 3-9x40 AO IR on it for now but will probably put something a bit better on it in the next couple of weeks. It's a heavy bugger but really good quality, everything clicks and glides like it should. I pulled the barrel through a few times then put about half a tin of FAPs through it. I must say it's easy to be accurate with this gun and the weight helps with that. So far I'm well pleased with it's performance and I love the look of it. Chris
  20. I wish I'd never sold the MK4is. It was coming up to 3yrs old and I'd read that the 3yr service was nearly £300 including postage so I stupidly moved it on. The following week, when I was at Redbecks, they told me they would have serviced it for £70. Gutted but you live and learn. Chris
  21. If they were that bad why buy another never mind seven? why waist your money? atvbmac  It was over about 3 years Mac and I just kept getting drawn back because they look and handle so nicely.More money than sense I suppose. Mind you, if I had £3 I'd have more money than sense. :-) Chris
  22. Blimey Chris! What went wrong with the seven Regals you had? I hope you have all night !!!Lol, Mitch knows but the main faults were ; low power, sticking bolt actions, leaks, clipping shrouds, rattles, badly made and sticking mags, stupidly loud actions, wild inconsistency from shot to shot. Apart from that, they were terrific.I kept on falling for the looks until I eventually realised that there are so many better guns at much more reasonable prices. Chris
  23. Might be Chris , might be , by the way my mate picked up a new BSA r10 super carbine .177 , OH my god what a gun ,5 fps spread over 35 shots , not pellet fussy , so pointable and very , very accurate , we have been shooting it all afternoon Mine's an absolute beauty mate, I put a Huma reg in it and it's a bloody tack driver. Chris
  24. Your getting mixed up Chris, Mac is not wearing the red cap ! Aahh, thanks for that Mark. I was mixed up, I thought Mac was in the red cap against a back drop of Hammer House of Horrors! :-) Chris
  25. Seven Huntsmans/Regals, and two MK4is rifles I've had and only one, a MK4is, was good. Chris
