Inspired me to take up catching the lil black beauties !! Been at it a while now, and got a lot of work in last year. This year, I can (maybe can't) keep up with all the work I got on at the moment... and I have got lots of it... Anyway, while going through my stuff a few weeks ago I found the DVD's again, so I watched them both again... I picked up on bits that I have been doing wrong, or not quite right, rep
  4. Why back leg?, All injections should be on the scruff/neck (whether under the skin or muscle) should they not? all the vets inject in the neck because closer to heart and can access the blood stream quicker, also in a terrier, it is as close as you can get to the infected area i.e. the nose. or am I wrong? erm!! you are wrong!! next !! intra muscular in the muscle..

  15. I dunno, but he was in it today Here's a theory on blocked traps, ones that are filled to the brim, I get them in soft soil, had four different sets of hills on the same field, caught one, but the other three had filled the traps... reset them in the same place. went back yesday and they were filled again, without setting of the traps... I had a bright idea (unlike me) was I pushing them into the earth to far ? ie pushing the triggers in the earth as well therefore making them usless, so again I cleaned out the traps, made the run smooth, pushed in the traps and lifted them a little so

  17. Like this you mean ?? here's an odd one that I lifted yesterday, any guesses as to what happened here ?? and another, that I took as it left the farmer a bit gobsmacked, 120 yards long, 77 molehills in a straight(ish) line, right down the middle of the field..

  20. first things first, I laid some traps yesterday, the farmer's workhand, decided that he'd go and slurry the field that I had laid the traps in, right over me traps... only three in as I had cleared the field the day before.. anyway as I'm cursing him and walking down the field to where the hills and hopefully my markers are... I spot one marker still up, empty trap.. next marker is flat to the boards, empty trap... I'm stood there looking cant see the other one, then in the tyre rut I can see the arc of the spring on me trap... I lifted it, trap set off with one mole in it, the mole and the mu
  21. if you want to do something for free, knowing that you would get paid for it that's your choice I didn't say don't catch their moles, I said charge em for it! I've gained more permission over the last few months than you could shake a stick at, oops, sorry not permission (they want you there!!) The farmers ask you can you do their rabbits and you say, yup but I will charge you for it or I'll come back with some ferrets and sort out a day where I can clear a load and thin them out for you, your choice, then have a days sport or do it professionally !! I'm new to moling as a paid job,
