    just finished a job, 20 moles that made me work a bit to hard got one farm to do, and that'it!! Have three farms for rabbits and maybe a few more in the pipeline, then it's... erm, erm!!

    With the dry weather and all this sunshine, had a pisser of an afternoon tryin to get traps in a ploughed field!! In the other fields the ground is baked solid, snapped a few trowels, last week or two!! Just wondering if anyone still got much work on or has it all 'dried up' ??

    Any mechanics got an idea what's wrong with me quad, starts fine, run around for an hour or so and it just dies, backfire's coughs and splutters like there's no petrol getting through !! then will not start, leave it overnight then it starts first time !!

    had another two today they both have a fair bit of mud on them, do I clean it of or freeze them as they are... Anyone know how much it would cost to get one mounted, can anyone reccomend someone ??

    I've had another one today, two fields over from where I caught the other two Whoop Whoop!! I'll have to take the venison out of the frezer at this rate !!

    had 27 in traps missed as many again with blocked up traps !! all different types of soil in different fields, to say the air was blue and I was a lil bit pist would be an understatement, :wallbash: been racking my lil brain all day trying to think what I had done wrong, if I had done anything different to the traps over the weekend or what !! Then the quad packed in, flat battery, furthest field away from farm and no signal on phone! Time for a wee dram I think !!

    Phone up your local molecatcher, as a paying customer and ask them !! They will tell you! Where I am and where I was it's £10.00 a mole, I know of someone charging £10.00 a mole and someone on his doorstep is advertising £5.00 a mole and £50.00 a garden, there's an ad on here for from £50 a garden, possibly three vists 20 mile round trip each time, and your time for £50.00 and you might not even catch it.. some are charging £50 a mole for the first one plus petrol/mileage.. if the local rate is X amount and the paying customers are actually paying that, I cannot for th

    Do they mak a difference, ie do they work, I've missed one mole three days on the trot, it goes through the trap, fills it fulla soil and makes it run between the trigger and edge of trap ???

    The farmer was with me 10 minutes before, wanting me to show him how it's done.. there was a few shitty runs on one side of the field so I showed him then he went about his business... glad he wasn't with me when this one was caught!! I did tell him later on though!! I had one last year, in a garden job, I laid the traps and she said do you want a coffee, being the nice kind of chap that I am I duly accepted, as she went in I saw the trap going off, so I drank my coffee and went back the next day, all surprised that I had caught the mole within 24 hours !!

    No rest for me as my workload has gone through the roof, laying traps this afternoon in the sunshine. I spied the surface run coming out from the hedge, cut the top away, clean it out and lay the trap.. not enough loose earth to cover the trap so I walk 10 steps further up, grap a scoop full of soil turn around to see that my trap has gone off, fck it, too much fine tuning I thought, I lift it and Moley mole is in there :boogie:
