  4. thats your book out the window  i think theres a difference between people mooching with a dog and a gun and the wholesale slaughter of fox`s with rifles but then again seen a post from a dog lad the other night saying he had done 17 foxs on someone elses ground with night vision does that not make him the same as the man driving around in the 4 x 4 blasting away? IMO no cos on foot or in a jeep you still av to get on to the fox to slip/drop the dog with a rifle all you do is spot it and fire job done (that's if your good with a gun) lollollollol youve seen my efforts with a came

  7. just got a camera and have started taking it out have to admit i quite enjoy it, my photo`s are rubbish like but ha ho dont know if i will ever swop the gun for it but never say never Never been a shooter, so a camera came easy for me, must admit it doesnt have the appeal it once had, becomes a chore at times but it keeps the landowners happy and gives me the oppertunity to run the lurchers without having to keep looking over my shoulder
  8. theres a thread on here somewhere read it earlier gives you all the info you need just do a search

  11. be interesting to see what you find i remember one tree bark is used to make mild pick me ups but buggered if i can remember which one old age i used that many lotions and potions but came to the conclusion hibiscub wash 3 times daily to stay off any infection and that horse soothing cream was about the best time did the rest
  12. no fluxatine is a slow working antidepresent and takes 14 days to start to work, there must be some form of herbal alternative as it would be illegal to use a perscribe drug on your dog.
  13. fluxatine looks bad but it will get worse before it gets better took mine 6 week or more to look a bit better
  14. daytime regular with the shotgun and lurchers. dogs carnt catch what flies over your head but can retrive as well as hunt and flush, mine are as happy working to the gun as they are the lamp if im out with the rifle especially in woodland i always take a lurcher to retrieve, i believe a lot of this lurcherman/shooter crap is historical
  15. i used a varity of things steroid creams and horse lotions but i honestly believe it healed it self however i think steriods from the vets would have helped it come back quicker, the pictures look identical to what mine had. it will spread all the way down its back and under its neck aswell.
  16. could be hormonal or stress related i had a bitch whos hair just died and fell out after having pups, if you ran your finger down her fur it came away like your finger was a razor

  18. no bragging the fact is it happens/happend all dogs can be unpredictable and do odd things at times, completly out of the blue much the same as people really, how many terriers have been grabbed bolting out of a cover or at the end of dig by over excited lurchers in days gone by?
  19. the police have a part to play when they issued the lad with a fac for his rimmy did they not check he had experience with firearms, this is where the 3 month mentor clause should be used but each force interprits the law in different ways. our firearms laws are stupid mainly because of bills being rushed into law after incidents with illegally held firearms.
  20. they have never stopped breeding this year im still getting half and 3/4 grown ones with the dogs here in the midlands
  21. out of the 3 ive got here only 1 can be 100% trusted with ferrets, i had a hutch in the garden for months and months with 2 ferrets in, the 2 dogs in the kennels never bothered with them, then one sunday morning there out on the garden, i goes in to make a cup of tea comes out to 2 dead ferrets on the lawn they had ripped the front off the cage. both had pissed off back into there beds
  22. can see both points of view, when i was trained in the safe use of firearms courtesy of HM forces it was taught using the stick method, if you fecked up you got hit with it, if you got it right you didnt get hit with it. anybody who has access to a gun needs to learn gun safety and some people dont have access to other people with enough knowledge to teach them. i taught my own lads from a very early age. from air rifles then onto shotguns a full bore rifles. however i wouldnt want to see a blanket requirement for formal training put in place, anybody that aquires a rifle should know in there
