  1. theres a hell of a lot of contradiction on this subject the more i read the more i see, i do know that my conditioning routine will change after this. if you think about it most, me included follow the greyhound routine, when in reality the lurcher does far more than run in a line, so more thought will be put into it in future. Ball on a rope does wonders Paul, the sprint, turn, strike etc. But i have noticed you must start this slowly and build up and only after the dog had had a good walk to warm him through If any of my dogs have a niggling injury it will get worse when doing this. Ye
  2. mine when fit free run at least an hour a day as i hate road work, even though the dog was recovering from an injury he had still been back freerunning for at least a fortnight prior to this he wasnt unfit by a large margin, whatever routine i was using needs to be moddified as the only muscles effected were loin and stomache so i need to adjust to put that right

  5. the most creepy place i ever went to was in germany on a training area, it was mengaleas hospital. we camped there for a few days, there was still shackles in the cellars, what made it worse, there was a safari park close by and they had a baboon enclosure, the noises they made at night coupled with the history of the building didnt make for a good nights kip im not scared easily but that place was very unnearving.
  6. We called the wee man Aaron, i know what you mean about being the best thing in the world, thats my 4th kid but defo the most nerve racking due to the circumstances. Defo the last though, lol Thanks again, everyone congratulations mate, good to here all was ok in the end
  7. make one out of an old heras fence pannel theres loads of knackerd ones on building sites all around the country
  8. training is easy if the dogs centre of attension is the trainer even when working, if the dog will stop and look at you whilst its doing its job then the trainer is always in control, due to the multiple activites i do with my dogs. a lot of work goes into being able to work them close or away depending on whether im shooting or just general mooching or lamping. im finding hard to explain this, when you first go into a field and let the dogs off and they go charging off down the field, i expect my dogs to stop and look at me for a cue as to what i want them to do next, come back,go left or ri

Instead of all of this cloak and dagger stuff leaving folks wondering....Si had an operation yesterday to have a brain tumour removed. It just goes to show what a top bloke Simoman is as no-one would have realised by the stiff upper lip and good humour he has still shown on here whilst his eyesight faded and he must have been absolutely 'shitting a brick'. Then to top it all off, as if it was not bad enough, his partner Liz (yes his partner is a female) was admitted two days before his surgery with an emergency ruptured appendix, leaving Si the added stress of getting someone to look after ki

  13. its fairly simple the 22lr was introduced to take over from the old rook and rabbit rifle of various calibres. was always ment to be and still is a short range vermin gun hence the need for subsonic rounds. yes theres target versions and even olympic events for it, but at the end of the day it is what it is and im afraid sniper material it aint
