Terrorism And National Security - Who Can You Trust ?
Accip74 replied to Blackbriar's topic in General Talk
I think the thought of Dianne Abbott as Home Secretary would be enough to put a lot of folk off voting labour. I would of thought even hardcore labour voters have serious doubts about that women? I'm amazed Corbyn hasn't binned her in that role, because she must be a vote loser? -
Made a red Thai curry last week, chicken and squid, excellent. Lasted me 3 days though Lucky to have See Woo chinese cash and carry just 10 minutes away and they do loads of Thai curry mixes, fish sauce, shrimp paste, lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves, etc etc... although I do like to add about a dozen extra chillies. Rabbit makes a nice Thai curry, provided you remove the silver skin and sinew. I've been making them for years, but I've struggled to get paste I'm happy with lately. I made my own paste with home grown chillies last year, which lasted a good while, but I weren't particularly

A good Thai takeaway is my preference above others these days :-)

Give this one a go.....;-)http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/lambcurrywithbasmati_84339 I couldn't eat lamb for years after working in Algeria because they either served mutton as lamb or their lamb just tasted disgusting...maybe was camel? I love it now though, I'll have a look at that It's my standard lamb curry now. It's lighter, fresher & healthier than anything in a curry house, which I'm sure you've found with your recepies. ....& it hasn't got 58 ingrediants! Haha

That a fiesta van? I used to have a fiesta sportvan. Really liked it for what it was tbh. Was ideal for me at the time. Yes, it's mainly sat around getting flat batteries for 5 years, but for some reason I keep it! Haha......Only yesterday I bump started with my neighbour down our hill...haha It's going to come in handy again soon, which saves the family motor ;-)

I bought this to Belgium & still have it, but hardly used in 5 years.........has & will mainly be used for dogs & hawking. Every day car is a ford Cmax, which has been great so far, but next year we will get a Ford Tourneo Connect for traveling round europe with the family. I only think economy & practical when it come to motors ;-) No other interest in them what so ever!

It's just the usual disgruntled employee mass shooting?

Yeah Scum was good, but hardly the same warm feeling of nostalgia you get when looking back at it......haha.... the greenhouse bit was romantic I prefer 'Tender' haha....

Yeah Scum was good, but hardly the same warm feeling of nostalgia you get when looking back at it......haha.... Dont get me wrong , I loved Kes , "but warm feeling no , nostalgia yes . It reminded me of how poor we were back then and how bleak it was , looking at their house with nothing much in it , no central heating , rags for clothes . I went to school with holes in my shoes hand knitted jumpers and trousers half way up my leg . I don't miss those days . I meant nostalgia for the film, that film was part of growing up for me........I watched it so many times ;-)

Once again there was multiple opportunities to put a stop to this before anything happened, fecking shameful But of course the Police Federation were scaremongering when they told May this is what would happen if police numbers were cut. I'm not sure so I'll ask, what actionable evidence were the police given or should they have gotten, bearing in mind our democratic and judicial principles? So far I don't think having extremist views is criminal. As your man Corbyn has rightly reminded everyone. What people need reminding of in all this is that there is a difference between intel

I saw this last night, they were interviewing his mate that reported him. What more can you do?? Detain him yourself??

You are right mate, it's a very sad fact that we are even having this conversation. I've been in shopping malls in Brussels, thinking "what would I do" "what's the best way out" fcuking tragic ain't it?

So many factors involved, that's it quite hard to predict what you would doing from comfort of your living room....

Surely that advice was aimed at women and children , I am not a macho ,key board warrior type of fella ,I like a peaceful existence without going looking for aggro as much as the next man ,but I WILL NOT run and hide ,not now ,not ever . So, as in the case of the Paris attacks, you were sitting outside a restaurant & it was sprayed with bullets by terrorists, you wouldn't duck for cover & attempt to call authorities? You would just stand your ground? I don't know why you seem to have taken exception to my statement ,I didn't say I wouldn't duck for cover ,I didn't say I wouldn't ca

What would your advice be to men/women/families caught up in a marauding terrorist attack facing knives, guns or perhaps explosives? O.K. If we want to play the pedantry game, being advised to run, hide and tell really grates and is not what I was brought up to believe in. It's like saying this is how it's going to be, get used to it. Like I've said, I don't think it's a motto, just advice to get out of the way in these circumstances & tell authorities as soon as possible so they can be taken out within minutes. But if you would rather deal with armed terrorists yourself, that fine by me.

im not convinced that is a good idea , on the basis that not many have the training to use them they may have spent a few hrs shooting paper targets thats about all my view is a unit of specialized military or ex military personell that have seen and been trained in those type of scinarios . It's not something I would of been particularly favour of in the past, but I suppose I've got so accustomed to it living here, that it just doesn't seem such a big deal anymore. Training is the key & I very much doubt our police force is going to undergo a massive overhaul with specialist firea

I'm really warming to the idea of armed beat bobbies. If the community officers in borough market had of been proper police with hand guns, it could been over in 2mins instead of 8?
