  1. I started with a break, then a HW97 then onto the HW100 - when I have the funds and the wife chills out about the guns, I'll go back and pick up a 97 again, but I'm keeping a firm hold on the 100 too, never let that go.
  2. Order one from China, for £7 it is worth the experiment... (you will need batteries on top) Or ask Bigmac/Vislauk, they have had them for ages.
  3. Busy lad, great haul and loving the ninja rabbit....I want one of those, I'd be tempted to keep the plet of that one!
  4. pound for pound, those knackers are massive, you'd need a pair bigger than your hand to be his equall. Mind, little use to him now.... Thanks for the dissection too.....
  5. If you lot want a smooth kick-less rifle, get a PCP!! JOKE JOKE JOKE - I know I'm kicked from the group, I'll get me coat.....
  6. ahh I see, you like the rabbits to come to YOU? LOL
  7. I just ordered a £7 ultrafire 501B - with red led drop in, already seen Bigmac and Vislauk use these and the red beam goes out to 100 yrd no issue..... Just got to wait for the slow boat from China....
  8. My HW100 is called "big stick" because I'd do more damage hoying it at the rabbits than shooting it.... LOL
  9. Den, I put a spoon of vinegar in with the salt water, came out as tender as chicken!! Oh and have a bath, might help with the bunnies sensing you coming just not too much tarty aftershave...
  10. Well done lads, Mac, you got anything other than rabbit and pigeon in your freezer? haha. Nothing like a bit of sibling rivalry to spur you on to get a few kills. S410 looks nice Sean too.....
  11. And forget about paying £40. The torch (ultrafire b501) you can get for as little as £7, I paid £6 for 2 batteries and a charger and the mounts are as little as £5-6 too. Shop around mate.
  12. The loin is the best bit, don't leave that to the dogs!!!
  13. Cracking, Den, and that looks tastey too! Bet ya gran was well happy!
  14. Well done mate, gutted I couldn't get out, family calls and all that, but first dry night this week, I'm in there like swimwear haha. Nice size that second one.
  15. What a stock! Oh and yeah, good shooting.
  16. One of the lads on the WOC bb said it was really good. A work in progress until he gets a lid on the benches, it will be alfresco shooting. Said the shop was well stocked too. Once the wife is back at Uni I'm going to get my arse up there.
  17. Take care on the filters, I have a LEDLenza P7 - mounts no probs, has push botton and pressure botton to mount onto the stock. The LED is white and will shine 200+ meters with frech batteries. The filter kit is under £10 and has 4 colours, red, blue, green and yellow. Sadly they all reduce the beam to some degree. Yellow will still shine out to 150m+, Green to 100m+, Blue to 50m+ the red sucks, you can hardly see your feet. If you have time, go on ebay, get teh ULTRAFIRE RED LED, B501W or something, you can get one for £7-£8, you'll need to order teh 18650 batteries and charger too, pl
  18. Shocked you didn't have every dog in the town round yours! I took the dog for a walk the other day with "stuff" on my kegs from gutting some rabbits, well every dog in Gosforth was up sniffing me!
  19. You were a BUTLER? Wooh how cool? did you have one of those silly suits?
  20. Good lord, I was under Bigmac's crosshairs!!! (probably a safe place to be haha) Other than 4 hours in the rain, this morning was great! I felt more confident alone now, still wanting to go prone for every damn shot, so need to practice some standing and kneeling shots for confidence. Walking in the dark was fine too, now I know the ground I have to cover, though I went into the small field (near the mortuary field - fresh cut grass), just off the back field - and couldn't find the way out haha. I was walking round and round in the dark thinking how the hell do I get out of here? I w
  21. He is a good teacher and a hell of a hunter too, mind he's getting demanding now too, doesn't suffer fools and is very serious about anyone messing around. That said, there are few people I can spend 10 hours straight with, you need a bit of craic too! Geordie boys have that in abundance tho'. He has me totally hooked on this sport now, but there are plenty of lads on here too, all happy to pass on a tip or two. I'm massively impressed with the community on here, odd balls, nuts and nutters alike! I'm hoping to get to the meet in Oct - work permitting.
  22. Oh I know, I have stalked everything from clumps of grass, rocks and last night, under a red lamp, I crept up 40 yards on a bloody big daisy thing that looked just like a rabbits eye from yards..... It is a good point. Safety first and all that. But you are right, as I am trying to give tips based on what I am learning, it would be wrong to tell people to do something daft. The experienced guys on here already have their technique and these blogs are not aimed at them, but any newbie like me should be pointed in the right (safe) direction.
  23. Very good point mate! I guess it should say, "scan with your eyes, once you know there are no people/non-target animals, THEN use your scope to check for Rabbits etc" That'd work right? I also walk around with my safety ON at all points, only take it off just before I shoot...
