  1. My pat has travel sickness - but he loves the car ! It's not nerves, it's a motion sickness, so he rides in the footwell where he can't really see the world go by
  2. The reason they're crossed in the first place is to keep the speed but get the benefits that a good lurcher needs that a pure grey cannot provide. Feet, skin, stamina etc I guess the feeling is that if your lurcher needs just speed added at the expense of potentially losing other elements, then you ought not to be breeding from it in the first place
  3. Looks like a mighty fine bulldog to me - always wondered if this x would turn out that way
  4. What a load of bollicks, you been on the booze FD you usually make a lot of sense. Lol Yeah, first time I can remember disagreeing with him too I did one on my neck for a giggle. Wasn't funny though... Didn't hurt my neck at all but my hip spasmed out and not feels almost bruised!!!
  5. I think my brother may be looking to rehome his half x border/welsh from farm worked parents She'd make a great first x in my eyes - tall, strong girl she is. Just finished her first season.
  6. Something very similar bred for sale ATM http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/112231642/romeo-x-sally-dog-pup.html
  7. Yes mate, suits mine just fine £3.50 a bag for 2 kgs
  8. I seem to remember Articgun? Having one of these - put some lovely pics up all the time with a little Pomeranian too.
  9. Isn't it something to do with legality?
  10. I like the look of that hound
  11. I'm putting a cone on the b*****ds head tonight. The fecker keeps getting at it
  12. I've never seen anything whilst out myself, but my ex father in law swore he saw a large black cat when he was driving once. He was a brimson though, so we didn't believe him at all... Then the news got wind of a few more sightings around the same time The same eejit has me in court next month. A crying shame he was driving and not walking at the time...
  13. I thought that may be the case. I have just picked up a 2 ish year old. He's a demon on anyhting that moves but very good with other dogs. Whats the breeding of yours in the pic bud? I wouldnt be lying if I said he was a spit of that dog, just without the slight white on the chest
  14. Sounds like one of those Bull Arabs over in Oz - they look handy animals
  15. This is my first time into these dogs, and I'm asking for genuine reasons - to provoke discussion rather than argument I have been into other working breeds so I understand the difference between lines and why you may or may not select a particular one In your opinion, specifically with Patterdales, why would you select from a particular line - say Stevens or Nuttall - and what PHYSICAL characteristics would you say each of these lines have?
  16. Anyone who talks in absolutes is usually wrong. That said, some of the info you've given (re: humans) is generally accepted, depending on who you talk to, so I don't think you're entirely daft at all. Where do wild dogs get these glycogen stores from then? Bearing in mind that taxonomically they're all still Canis Lupus?
  17. I'll not lie. I'm not 100% on the feeding of dogs - I just feed for what suits me. Not always them. However, all this talk of glucose for energy... Am I not right in saying that glucose=blood sugars=carbs? Dogs ought not to run on carbs and therefore glucose. Their system is akin to a man being in ketosis, no? They get their energy from fat, I'm damn near sure???
