  2. Sitting having a dram in the head stalkers house (for medicinal purposes) after a cold day feeding sheep on the hill in white out conditions a large group off hinds appeared on the hill ....it was getting on abit in the day about 2.30 and at that time of year Dec it was dark early ...we were short of our numbers due to it being a very hard winter that year ...so we decided to have a craic at them ..... donned the white suits got the rifles and we both stalked into them about 100 beast s ...the wind wasn't great and the light was failing quick but we managed to get into position and Jimmy fir
  3. Have you read about the TMX though? They reckon they are as near to lead as its going to get and better and cheaper than tungsten matrix. I've been using 32g TMX over the past 3 years and really like them. Before that I used Tungsten Matrix in 36g which were even better but I stopped when they went daft expensive (think they are towards £2 a shell!). If you buy 250 TMX they work out at about 90p a shell however Gamebore have stopped / paused production because the price of tungsten has just rocketed again. They were also dropping the load from 32g to 30g which is surely too ligh

  6. I did not advice to use 6s I said use 5,6 to shoot duck s I said I think its overkill using 42 g or 56gr 1s ...I have shot lots of geese with duck catridges as I use a semi and sometimes when your out on the mud and that is what you have loaded you sometimes don't have time to change to a heavier load but that's wildfowling and the skill is to know if you can take that shot to produce a clean kill...I have priked plenty and anyone who says they haven't are lying or have not done a lot of fowling .imo using the big heavy loads gives lads a false sence of security and makes lads take they high
  7. Im not sure if that's directed at me Leslie ...im a bit slow this morning ive not had my cup of coffe and I need at least 5 smokes to get me going ...I have shot geese with 5s 6s ...and if you think you shoot more fowl than me in a week than I have in a lifetime then you are deluded
  8. Like ive already said imo the lads that use big heavy loads for wildfowling maybe there shooting isn't up to much ....keep them for the fox drives
