  1. Looks like your "missus" has got a "monk on"
  2. Hi Defector, good post I`m not for one second going to try and tell the lads on here how to suck an egg as this is "each to their own". I have shot .22 since the early 1970`s right through to 2012, ( all springers ) and bought my first pcp after much research, trying out and experienced guidance from the lads at my ranges. I bought the HW 100 kt .177 and find this rifle and calibre combination so lethal to small game that i can`t see myself changing back to .22 "EVER" I am a "Reformed air
  3. Thank you lads for the "usual encouragement" shown. Even my dog is giving me the look " sniff " Well, -- One more than you got in all that weather ! "Ha ! Ha! "
  4. As promised this is the photo of the single corvid taken with a boiler room shot through thick spindle branches with the T Rex 200 HC mk3 .177. Having trouble with photo size now but i`ve tried
  5. Mine`s called T Rex so, "ner, ner,na,ner, ner" I knew that was coming Mitch, so it`s photographed just waiting for my lad again Gun was loaded but not cocked
  6. Took the T Rex out late on this afternoon for a static hour on the old oak tree at one of the permissions today. Wildlife activity was very slow and by 3-40 pm i was about to say " Ah well, blankety, blank" when a large black wing flap caught the corner of my eye. A large corvid had landed to the back of the oak and had no idea i was there camo`d up in a hide. I gave it a good 30 - 40 seconds to settle itself and gently cocked the T Rex holding in the bear trap so as to get just the one click, - got it without alert, second click to close the under lever is
  7. Just got back from an outing myself,no photos either but would be waste of time as I blanked! Moon to bright ground to loud temperature too low...the list of excuses is long and pitiful!.. At least you tried Random Better luck next time mate
  8. Long way off for me but Big Mac could well "learn how to shoot" if you lads are patient with him eh TW4T
  9. Nice shooting there mate, with a mighty fine calibre . Shhhh the leaves need sweeping up as well, ---- only saying like. atb
  10. AA Fields Diablo .22 - stacked 15 3 stacks of 5
  11. She`s spent 30 yrs saying "you need a license for that! " - sure your not thinking of Mrs Moxy Only saying like
  12. Hi mac,- first off - good shooting mate - it`s about time you shot something you tw4t The sticks are only ever used for static/ hide shooting, with the .177`s you see. I never use fence posts as my 54 yr old extra massive biceps, 24 inch waist , and 1 ft long - 1/4 black masterpiece - enable some very stiff and strong support, in "all situations" atb
  13. One point to consider,- adrenalin . You shoot a rat, its big brother appears, reload ! reload! - the HW`s will never ever malfunction on reload - major advantage over the opposition you cannot double load, period ! Big Mac`s advice on Daystate,- spot on ! about time he got something right tw4t
  14. No mark hounded me for it as its 177 and will mach his gillie suit and sticks so in the end i gave in and sent it to him as a gift he has a few pink suits atvbmac  Are you two out to get me again ? Yer pair of tw4ts I`ve still not thanked you for the pink suits you lent me Mac, but i will, - Flamingos ! Naaar i "much prefer chimps" atb tw4ts
  15. Oh yes from the early 70`s right through to 2013 i shot .22 exclusively. I went along to the new ranges in my neighborhood, shot the HW 100 .177 and my 40 year marriage with .22 was "OVER" . A .177 cal pcp is a very "forgiving" cal/rifle combination and the flat trajectory a million miles better for shooting through dense branches,- no one will ever persuade me differently . To understand milldot calibration on a .22 or .177 or any other calibre is easy, if memory is a problem, a short pencil will cure it. Now pick up a .177 springer
  16. The Tornado and meteor got the 4x15 shit scope and the 4x20 shit scope. Mercury got a 3-9x 40 wages gone scope and so on.
  17. Hows that Raider coming along Mac ? You giving her a good trial mate ?
  18. Shooting Mitch For my style of shooting (static/ hide) the Primos are so, so valuable. For night shooting, - well i can`t comment mate, - nice fire and good wire and all that atb
  19. 1, Relum Tornado 1976 .22 2, BSA Meteor .22 3, BSA Mercury .22 4, BSA Airsporter .22 5, FWB Sport 127 1980 ish - 2013 same gun .22
  20. I renewed my shot gun certificate recently and had the firearms officer checking all was well. While the officer was doing the inspections i asked about my air weapons (all sub 12 ft/lbs) and he said as all my kids are over 18 yrs old there is no problem being under house security. If however your children are under 18 yrs of age they want all weapons in a secure gun cabinet. I did`nt mention grand children though so i`m sure one of the lads will be along soon to answer that one, personally i would get the extra cabinet.
  21. Mark , didnt you know mac is vis little bitch "Yeah"
  22. Just got off the phone as Viz rang me up. What`s this about open branches and he did all the shooting Mac ? He also said you did all the fetching.
  23. The times when .22 is required is when the shooter is not as good a marksman with the shot placement as .177 is. here we go
