  3. First week of June last year, hope they come this year
  4. I remember a case, bit of a walloper mind, who modelled himself on Owd Wade, I hear there was no shortage of wannabe door staff after witnessing the inspiration that was, is, and always will be Roadhouse Circa 1989
  5. There was a Cuckoo sounding off in Rothbury last Sunday, I like them
  6. The trials and tribulations of knacker deep arable

  8. Sounds like you know your onions What do you make of the autocue on this?
  9. What do you reckon he made of you, a bit of a paraffin, or just happy gassing about the flora and the fauna with the odd mention of beige cardigan etc?
  10. I once saw footage, or should that be hoofage? of a herd of fallow walking down a residential street eyeing up the rosebuds, must have been a program about the increase in deer populations
  11. There's nothing but adders, and trip hazard strewn energy sapping heather, and the odd derelict pizza hut, head south young grasshopper Boston maybe
  12. I remember a crank telling me there was 6 herd of muntjac at swallow marsh, this was about 20 year ago, the lad claims to get out on the beating line, and just goes for the big stuff with his lurchers, but I've never seen him do anything, or even seen any of his dogs, if muntjac were a herd species surely they'd all live together in a place as small as that, I had a drift around Norfolk a couple of year ago that's the only place I've seen any Muntjac, I'd like to go back down and stay for a good while, seemed an interesting place with a lot to see, but it was very warm inland even in may it wa
  13. There's a herd of fallow up on the coastal fields, only seen them the once must have been a good 40 of them, seen them over at Otterburn aswell
  14. I hear they're being managed now, I don't know if they always have been, or if they've just started recently, I counted seven in one field, and eight a couple of fields further down the road a few weeks ago
  15. Smooth coated red/fawn dog if I remember right
  16. I saw a brace of young paraffins with a smart looking saluki bred young dog last year on Longbenton estate, incidentally I'm a bit of a paraffin myself
  17. I don't know if he still does with him being the age he is, but he used to go missing for some time every year, there used to be a photographer who spent a lot of time watching him and the foxes that were there, he told me that, there was another fella with some gundogs who I hear used to find the antlers, they're throwing the new builds up at a rapid rate, it was a bit of a sickener to see the big field at the hill being built on, and now the farm on the other side of the road, I remember the old cafe at the visitors centre being called the leaping hare, used to be plenty there, and the habit
  18. I can only assume that somebody has picked him up as a calf as sometimes happens, then he's been released at some point, there's no Red deer anywhere near here, I know the Roe can be seen on the fish quay, and even been seen on the pier, and longsands etc, but the Red is a mystery
  19. Ye olde Tyneside stag, he'll be about a score now, still plodding on living in an area well away from any more of his own species, it'll be about 18 year ago the first time I met him in a derelict farm yard in the middle of the night, he found his home a few mile up the road from that farm, and seems happy enough amongst the horses
  20. Shove your grass cutter through it, nothing like a nose full of nitrogen in the morning
