  1. Hi Davy, May I have access to the photos please. Regards Steve
  2. Hi Roger, I wouldn’t have the patience to carve a full rifle stock, a few hours working on a hamster is all I can manage before going potty. The posts are spray painted with several coats of black enamel paint. Regards, Steve
  3. Hi Lewis, There is not enough clearance between the barrel and the air cylinder to fit a standard silencer, that’s why I went for the fully shrouded barrel. Regards, Steve
  4. Thanks for the kind words chaps . I really ought to spend my spare time practicing shooting instead of tinkering, then, who knows I may become 2X’s champ like you Davy . It is a full length cylinder on a carbine Lewis . I think I may be tempted to make one more in exchange for a nice donation to Help for Heroes, Stealthy1 . It is a new design Aaron, the school’s come good again . And just one more for good luck for you Si . Regards, Steve
  5. I’ve been tinkering again to customise my new HFT HW100-FSBkt. After carving a hamster and fitting it to the stock as test piece for last week’s HLF meet, faced with a little time on my hands I decided to improve the hamster and pillars of the successfully trialled piece. Mk2 is the same size but with a little more ornate carving and mounted on new pillars. The original air cylinder has been replaced with an A&M standard length cylinder, single shot adapter fitted and a MTC Viper Connect compliments the current setup. At some time in the near future I will be fitting an adjustable butt pad
  6. They must have glass entrance doors!
  7. I asked a similar question a few months ago when I proposed to buy my first spring power air rifle; the answers mostly favoured .22 for smooth action with less recoil. Upon the advice offered I bought a .22 Air Arms TX200HC, it performed beautifully and I was very happy with the purchase. Shortly after I bought a .177 HW97KT and had it professionally tuned and the end result was smoother than the .22 Air Arms. Since then I have changed the AA TX200HC .22 barrel for a .177 and fettled the action to smooth it out further and that too is now as smooth as the original .22 before the alteration and
  8. Thanks to everyone for a great weekend, especially the organisers. Regards, Steve
  9. I had a Contour .177 super six and it was lightweight and a very accurate rifle. The only reason I sold it was because it only had eighteen good shots in the sweet spot otherwise I would have kept it. The Concept has the same action but with a longer barrel and larger capacity air cylinder, the extra size increases the shot count. In my opinion Brocock are very good value for money and a trustworthy rifle. Regards, Steve
  10. Some stiff competition in the recoil class judging by all the recent pellet grouping posts; bring it on! Regards, Steve
  11. Good on you mate! Regards, Steve.
  12. Does that make this forum redundant then? I think not; when a trivial or similar question is asked repeatedly it generates a broad range of answers, sometimes even belittling the OP. This in return generates replies that can be both witty and/or downright sarcastic. My whole point is, whatever question is asked and whatever answer is given it is generating interest in this forum; now that has got to be a good thing, hasn’t it? Regards, Steve Edited Having read many of your replies to posts on here you come across as a man who doesn’t tolerate fools. Now I know you are held in high est
  13. A very, very reputable source told me AA Field pellets are a better, cleaner and more consistent pellet than JSB Exact. The reason being they both come from the same die press but JSB are the first ones through the press, and in effect warming up the machinery for smooth running and then re-branded as Air Arm Field. I have no reason to doubt this information that was explained to me by such a renowned gunsmith; however, the fact is, from personal experience I find JSB’s a better pellet for my 97kt and also my HW100kt than AA Field. Regards, Steve
  14. It was a pleasure to read your account of bringing the 97 up to such a high standard Simon. I don’t know you personally but with your reputation it couldn’t be in better hands. Regards, Steve
  15. Well done Si; I wish someone could fettle me and restore me to my former glory.
  16. A man of few words “thirty five yards” the action says it all. Great shooting. Regards, Steve
  17. I asked a similar question a few months ago and ended up buying a .22 TX200HC. Since then I have also bought a .177 97kt and had it stage 2 tuned. I have stripped and polished the action of the TX and recently changed the barrel to a .177. Both rifles are now spot-on accurate and have a smooth firing cycle; they both outperform my personal shooting ability. Whichever one you go for you will have made the right choice. Regards, Steve
  18. Still the gent and with no bitterness, leave the remorse for others. There’s only one loser and from what I read in previous posts he bought it all upon himself. Regards, Steve
  19. Very nice setup, the stainless looks great in a timber stock and the custom sling finishes it off. Regards, Steve.
  20. Very good news Roger; there are lots of sincere and generous members on this forum, that’s what makes it one of the best. Regards, Steve
  21. I’m up for that Si, put my name down please. Regards, Steve
  22. Nice one, happy hunting. Regards, Steve.
  23. I do take you point and respect the advice offered. As original makers specification the O-ring stops the pellet falling through when inserted into the magazine. What I found was when the magazine is fully loaded the exposed indexed pellet frequently fell out from the loading side prior to inserting into the rifle. By turning the holder over the O-ring prevents the pellet falling out from either side. An alternative solution of only loading nine pellets, leaving the exposed indexed holder empty was suggested on another forum was a more attractive solution (for me at least) to the problem encou
  24. Being so close to the venue are you taking lodgers for the weekend? I’m very easily pleased, comfy bed, full English and chauffeur to the meet is all I ask! Regards, Steve
  25. Many thanks for the kind words. I couldn’t justify buying another TX in .177 so I converted the one I have, I can always change it back to .22 should I need to. Regards, Steve
