  4. Got a call last night from the huntsman that he was just taking out a few of the younger hounds to give them a go to see how they do a mix of welshhound and old English foxhound and a few of the experienced hounds they went into the first cover and nothing really out of it going around in circles so we got them out and moved on to only a small cover and we saw the fox heading out and they got straight onto him and hunted him for a good few fields and he was marked to ground in a nice four holer so I entered my dog took him about 3/4 minutes and he met his opponent it was and easy 1 metre dig h
  5. I have done a good bit of digging in Cork down the years, and I have just come to the conclusion that the clever Cork boys are bringing me to all the hard spots(shame on ye boys).I NEVER got it easy in the Republic of Cork, unless they are keeping the handy ones for themselves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol! the cute cork huirs arent simple no doubt!! there a couple of cork boys commin up here the last few weekends and they are able to shift a bit of clay in fairness! i dont know would i want to dig 14 meters in a day realistically, i think id lie in that morning if i knew that going was ah
  6. like I said he is very intensive I don't know how he does it either .. the most the dogs had was two each so thats not a serious haul ..the lads I go with aren't on here unfortunately nd never Will be ... and in cork we do keep things very quiet ...we were poxed to get that number and that the digging was so easy ..just like it was amazing to get 1038 rats from four sheds .. the lads I dig with usually get 5/6 off this farm on the yearly trip to it it is only done once a year and is nite shot over or lamped
  7. well I suppose we cant all get like a thousand rats out of a few sheds we just got 8 foxes out of a three hundred acre sheep farm half way through lambing, and of course hunters never get into anything else as they get older and farmers are never picky on who they leave onto there farm and obviously every farmer wants a group of 30 horses galloping through his fields ...and on the pictures too many antis and people wanting to rob dogs on this site you may have a constant supply of working terriers that your able to risk them getting robbed but I dont
  8. it is very easy digging as I said and three of us were digging so we were able to move it very fast
  9. thank you there is a massive population as there is few people shooting them around here which is brilliant for hounds and terriers
  10. good goin mate fair play to u for sticking with it
  11. It is a real magnet for them to be honest with the amount of sheep he farms
  12. Well today was a real hard day for the five terriers and the three of us ...a very intensive sheep farmer rang one of the men I dig with to do their yearly trip to his farm before he lets the lambs out to give ye an idea of the scale he farms about 300 acres he has 350 ewes lambed and 400 left to go ...so we got there at half seven met the farmer and set off I had my two jack russels there was two black patts a young bitch and a well experienced dog and a choclate patt in his second season ... the first set was very nice small place so we decided to enter my bitch for her second go and within
  13. sorry to hear about your bitch hopefully she Will come right
  14. I thought ferreting was good sport but it doesn't just match up to the terrier bigger animals I suppose
