I'm quite relaxed about our present position. I'm 75 now and was born less than a mile from the ground. I remember the bad times like Munich and relegation as though they were yesterday. But also the good times like the first and subsequent European cups. The Fergie era was unbelievable and lots of fans thought we had a divine right to win everything. Not so. We were also in the wilderness for years after Busby retired. It's just part of football. I'm irritated about how standards have slipped though. f****n Rashford and Garnacho need a shake. They haven't enough pride about themselves or

I didn't know that. Cheers.

Terrific post mate. The bird was his partner and now mother of his kid. It was just virtue signalling by Man U. Tbh, looking forward to the shit hitting the fan at Maine road. There's a lot of lawyers with big headaches trying to do backroom deals and buy people off with regard to the financial fair play rules. Be interesting to see how far they can slither out of it or spin the outcome.

Jack Johnstone was a hero to both Ali and Mike Tyson. He didn't give a feck about the colour divide , wouldn't accept the rules and had white girlfriends which upset people. You can hear boundini Brown shouting " Jack Johnstone in the room!" In order to fire Ali up. It's reckoned he threw the fight to Willard. He was supposed to have been knocked out. But there's a photo of him shielding his eyes from the sun.Lol. As you say he used to ' tie his opponents up'. Brilliant individual way of boxing.

Seriously, no true football fan would begrudge a trophy for the geordies. Fabulous fans bourne originally out of the shipyards and pits. The scenes of joy and delirium would cheer the whole country up.

Yup. He's had a charmed life because he's come through the ranks. We had another local lad Danny Welbeck, a crowd favourite . Van Gaal came, sold him immediately and said his stats weren't good enough. The same is true of Rashford, stats not good enough and apart from one season never have been. Since it's the season of good will, how about swapping Isak for Rashford? Tell you what I'll do wid yer. I'll bung yer a few crates of Newcie brown. I can't say fairer than that mate.

Man U woes. During Amorim's last press conference a reporter had to move seats because the roof had sprung a leak. Later on in the week the ground's hygiene rating was lowered because mouse shit had been discovered inside the building. Both events are grimly symbolic of the decay at Man U over the last two decades. Nearly every talented kid chooses to train at Man City instead of Utd. Including kids, now high fliers, Phil Foden and Coleman at Chelsea. An old school mate has two close relatives employed at Man U. He says the atmosphere inside the club is deadly. There's bee

Which one wins against Dempsey? Jack Johnstone? I'm sure AI could work it out, but then there wouldn't be anything to agree or disagree on.Lol.

Smokin Joe for me. Hungrier, more determined fighter imo. Human pit bull.

Danny has as much threat and malice as a pantomime dame. He's too nice. If it wasn't for his dad I don't think he would have been interested in the sport. Still, he can bang.

Watching that trilogy of fights is nerve tingling. The hairs on the back of your head rise. We will never see the like again. They forgot the money and fought for pride and dominance. Nothing but total respect for them. They damn near fought to the death. Both of them required lengthy hospital stays after the fight. As the yanks say " they put it all on the line".

Heavyweight boxing fans have been conned watching Fury, Chishora Whyte, Joshua etc. They've paid over the odds to watch journeymen. Usyk has been an education, a breath of fresh air. A real treat to watch. He's cleaned up the division. I hope he retires with his legacy intact.

How can that sub human have more ability than me when it comes to making and posting videos? I haven't got a clue. The Internet was supposed to free us all from the bollocks we read and have broadcast to us. Instead it gave every fucktard a voice.Lol

His head was like a rock, but, sadly his brain is scrambled. He slurs his speech like a lot of the old timers.

Fury must have been advised to bulk up in order to overpower and walk through Usyk in the same way that he overwhelmed Wilder by walking him down. But that was stupid advice imo. Wilder was a poor boxer with a freakish power punch and not much punch resistance. Usyk is a different animal entirely. Nobody can tie him up on the ropes. Definitely not Fury. Bulked up or carrying his normal weight, Fury never had the beating of Usyk. Although to be fair, in the first fight he landed some some terrific uppercuts on Usyk which had him in trouble momentarily. But Usyk, as always, recovered

Just spent a geeky half hour comparing fighting weights in (kilos) of some of the heavyweights I grew up with. Sir Henry Cooper 84 Rocky Marciano 85 Ali 93, first fight against Frazier Frazier 93 first fight against Ali Lewis 110 Fury Saturday night 127 Usyk 102 Holyfield 102 Foreman 99 first fight against Frazier I suppose I was pondering whether Usyk could have cut it with guys of the past. On paper maybe all of them except Lewis. He was a genuinely big, balanced, fluid heavyweight with a concussive punch to boot. Ali in his prime would have

I think this business of the public demanding knockouts and boxers being judged on the power of their punches is bollocks. I genuinely get more pleasure out of seeing two evenly matched movers in the ring than a concussive puncher knocking out an opponent. Imo knockouts are part of the sport and can be a work of art in themselves. But knockouts are not the be all and end all of boxing. We've all seen too many injuries and fatalities to drool over a man stretched out on the canvas receiving oxygen.

Good post. Fury could have been deducted points on a few occasions for holding and hitting. Usyk is the best technical heavyweight I've ever seen. No wonder he has the beating of the current crop of heavyweights. None come even close to him in ability. It would be fascinating to have seen Usyk up against Ali, Holyfield or Lewis. They had a fluidity or power of punch which I think Usyk would have struggled with.
-
In contrast Usyk was respectful, a gentleman. A practitioner of the noble art. The Furys are an embarrassment to boxing and the UK. Thankfully we are seeing the tail end of them now.

Now girls. Social media is bad for your mental health. Step away from it and get some counselling or aromatherapy. Vicky Pollard and Jamie Vardy's wife are alive and well Lol It's It's joke, gentle ribbing. Don't take it to heart.

We're all bipolar and have ptsd. Although, fair enough some people have it worse than others. Life is tough, we all get mental scars along the way. Some never heal. I can't understand this fascination with gypsy ' culture'. One set of my grandparents were born in caravans. Big deal. That's poverty. I'm not proud or ashamed of my so called gypsy heritage. I once towed a caravan on holiday and hated it. f**k that. I've always been into lurchers and goldfinches. Is that my gypsy genes coming out in me? Is it f**k. Lol

Dubois low blow. Usyk made the most of it. Dubois was soon on one knee giving the pleading eye look to his corner. Joshua had that Audrey Harrison look in his eyes throughout both fights....scared, confused, mesmerised. Chishora played his usual role of punch bag. The ring is a lonely place and Usyk always finds his opponents and wears them physically and psychologically.
-
I will say one thing for Sumo. He gave Usyk two close competitive fights. Which is more than any other opponent I've seen Usyk fight.
-
Ya silly Billy. I'm going to organise a THL whip round to send you to Specs avers to get the urgent help you require. Sumo thought he was the prisoner Charles Bronson with the beard and stary eyes last night. I laughed out loud when he put on the stary eyes to try and psyche Usyk. How the f**k are stary, flaring eyes supposed to intimidate Usyk? Sumo put on extra weight in the hope he could smother Usyk on the ropes. But how was Usyk going to fall for that? His feet are ballet dancer's feet, he could skip round Sumo all night, every night. I think there's a condition called 'gyp

You work on the railways mate? I only ask cos we had a member on here who worked on the railways and he was quite sensible about boxing. I think with all that shovel leaning, railwaymen have lots of time to think and talk about boxing.
