Thoughs and feelings about this video ?
Roy Williamson replied to Elmer_Fudd's topic in General Airgun Discussion
sometimes you just have to take what you see at face value. He could have just edited out the first couple of shots and pretended he got a clean kill first shot. I watch a few youtube vids, mostly verminthuntersTV. I have never thought any of those had been edited and yet I cant remember seeing a missed shot. But there must have been at least 1 in all that time. ( I do regard Si and Dave very highly, great vids and lots of great info) Its going to be impossible for a target not to move at the very last second and make you miss, but I must admit the missed second shot looked like a sitter. Fully agree that he has bottle to show his miss. The first shot seemed good and at 30ftlb would have thought it would have done the job. Just goes to shows it can go wrong at any time. -
For the price of a rowan lever, get a new nikko off the bay

Popped down to the club and shot my november comp cards. 4 cards 5 shot on each. used the defiant 4.52 and scored 198/200 and the 2 dropped points where my first 2 shots. Every pellet seems perfect, no deformaties and load into the barrel exactly the same, no small or larger pellets. I must just be lucky with my hw99. Going to have to see if I can get a discount on the postage for a bulk buy

Have to agree with Si(zini) the weihrauch 25 is a great starter rifle andt quality. Nothing better to get and keep a new shooters interest than shooting a quality solid gun. The meteor is also a fine rifle to start with. goodluck with your stepsons shooting. ATB Roy

to be honest, bank transfer or paypal as gift makes no difference as paypal wont be interested with anything shooting related. Had to shim the scope, holding zero but optics dark and not as clear as my cheapo Hawke. this was the first item bought off a forum so learning as we go

Or.... they sell a piece of tat like the tasco 4-14x50 tasco scope i bought off kill zone, then pester you to put a post saying how great they are so they can dupe the next sucker for a fortune. Thanks mole for bringing attention to scum like them. ATVB Toy

camo and black bsa r10 to be sold.
Roy Williamson replied to risingfriend's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I would think if your going to camo the stock you should make the metalwork matt or camo also. For me its a nice figured wood stock every time, but for a hard working hunting gun then tactical stock and camo work well -
After checking a post on bbs I came across this collection http://s1191.photobu...mview=slideshow I asked about the pistol grips and he can make grips for Webley, Crosman & HW45 pistols. Getting a pair like these Cant wait to get them fitted. These are costing me £30 and I think that is a great price for hand made walnut grips. Some of the stocks on his collection are amazing, This Diana Superior is very special. Also think this Stutzen is very pretty Think I must have a wood fetish If anyone is interested his user name is airgunner.177 on airgunbbs ATB Roy

Are people who say they did not work for them talking about the new type, the HFT competition, I have not tried any other types including the ogives, but these ones worked for me, as had be said, each barrel, even including same model and identical specification can prefer different pellets, I must just be lucky Just a pity it I have not found a cheap brand it loves

Cheers for the info mate, and a big thanks for the work done for our Troops, The TREATS 4 BRITISH TROOPS is a fantastic idea, well done. ATB Roy

mmmmmmmmmmmm now thats a nice pistol collection, hoping to get a nice collection going myself, never going to be that nice Gratz and thanks for the pics. The webleys look fantastic,Would the older wooden grips for the other Webleys fit the modern Hurricane?

Just had a little shoot with the webley, so nice to hold and shoot. Pellets that came with it where nasty ( L.J Cammell pellets, Tiger Gold and Champion Devastators ) had some H&N FTT and these shot great, here is a little 5 shot group at 10 good paces shot standing 1 handed, so prob about 10 yds. sorry about the quality, used the cam built into laptop Going to have to start that spring pistol league in my club

mm where abouts did you say it was for sale

Just fixed a pc for neighbour for free and was talking about my interest (obsession) with shooting. He mentioned he had an airpistol in the loft, had it from new and only fired about 20 pellets. Off he popped to get it, he produced a nice little carry bag with the pistol, sight mount, telescopic sight (1.5x15) 2 tins of pellets and instructions/guarantee. The pistol is as new in .22 and the sight has never been on the pistol. He said as I did him a favour he would sell it for £50. Sitting here with a big cheesy grin on my face, I have wanted a hurricane/tempest for a while after regretting

Question about ft/lb's and grain weights
Roy Williamson replied to WoodsmanJim's topic in General Airgun Discussion
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh get ya. Unfortunatly I only know what I have read, and that is pellet weight makes a huge difference to muzzel energy. Another can of worms is that the same rifle (pcp) in different calibres will give different amount of shots for the same charge of air. And the larger calibre like .22 shooting a heavier pellet will give more shots than a .177 shooting lighter pellets. You would have thought it would be the other way around. ATB Roy -
VERY nice, been thinking about getting a PCP soon, still not sure about which one yet, I think it will have to be a buddy bottle type as I want a good shot count, at least 200. Daystate is looking good and the AirWolf is stunning, just maybe a little expensive for me

Question about ft/lb's and grain weights
Roy Williamson replied to WoodsmanJim's topic in General Airgun Discussion
No, no gun is a set power, depending on the weight of the pellet and its velocity this determines the ft/lb. Here is a great site that explains it http://www.pyramydai...y_August_2003/5. But basically, depending on the pellet weight and shape an airgun coulb be say 11.5ft/lb with one pellet and 12.1 with another. ....I Think
