    ye im going too, when the rabbits thin out abit it would have been nice with the steep flights up to roosting birds, build fitness, like you said stick to rabbits less hassle ha

    ive looked into that and on the defra website it states (v) any device for illuminating a target or any sighting device for night shooting im not shooting them so i dont think its illegal, correct me if im wrong though. if it is indeed illegal then it wont be happening, its just ive been reading this article http://woodlandsfalconry.com/tommy-s-articles/lamping/ and also heard of another bloke in the village doing it so im just exploring my options for the limited time i will have next season.

    i know but due to limited time next season lamping will make up alot of my season and once the local rabbit population begins to dwindle i will have to turn to other quarry to get my harris out hunting, until the weekends when i will be able to travel further for hunting maybe, i would definitely try magpies but not pheasant i would rather leave them for either daytime hawking, catapult or gun.

    pull the elastic back to a set point everytime or you wont hit anything consistently, i pull the pouch to an inch past the corner of my mouth everytime, find an anchor point that suits you. if you move the elastic to aim you will hit your hand or your catapult fork

    ha depends some do some dont when target shooting i always do then i walk the shots in by aiming with the top fork. but when im out hunting i will aim with one eye get relative to the target then open it and fire when it feels right, you will soon get the hang of it with practice

    i know what your saying but i just carnt get on with them when im out. even though like you said they weigh about the same as the 9.5mm they are still bigger, so for me im gonna get on the 9.5`s

    i was the same with holding the catty. i can only close my left eye but was holding the catty with my right so when i brought the pouch to my anchor point i wasnt looking down the bands. switched hands and know it feels strange to hold it the other way. ye the ammo that comes with the black widow are plastic there called training ammo. the steel will be alot heavier. im going to buy 9.5mm steel bb`s for pigeon as im looking for more speed than my usual 12mm lead. im also going to look into 10mm lead for rabbits but keep making the 12mm for pheasants when the season comes round

    they seem more air resistant than owt else, good for target shooting but just carnt get on with them when out hunting

    its great love the design its unreal how comfortable it is compared to other catapults ive tried. i can tell that the strain of double bands will be spread perfectly

    Well after missing out on a side shooting catty being offered by blue pocket rocket, atomlab kindly offered me a side shooter he had made for absolutely nothing! the catty was posted monday and was delivered tuesday afternoon! all i had to wait on was the single theraband gold bandset (i will make my own one-day) the catty is stunning fits the hand perfectly and shoots like a dream. the accuracy at 10m is great and thats only after shooting it for a day as the bands were only delivered this afternoon. shooting marbles at the minute but as soon as i get some 9.5mm steel bb`s im off for the pig

    well to bring the topic back on track i will offer my little bit of knowledge from my shot experience with cattys, ive been shooting them for a few weeks so im by no means an expert im just giving my take on starting out, so dont be pulling me into the 5 minute expert argument. i revisited shooting catapults after failing miserably with a black widow 2 years since, i went for a chinese catty from ebay but was then advised against this so instead purchased a handmade catty from ebay for just over a tenner made from 18mm multiplex, already banded up with double theraband, never looked back, acc

    The user silverburn is a good YouTube watch. Ive got two falconry DVDs one was ok only certain parts were good but video quality was shite, the rest of it was showing car hawking which produces the most boring flights ever. The other one was delivered today so I need to watch that hopefully it will be better, its hours long with eagle hunting Harris goshawk redtail and falcon hunting so it should be good

    Definitely, would be easier with a video camera anyway, set it up on a tripod overlooking a set and just leave it to record the action. Not like a camera where you need to physically capture the action yourself

    Same here, I need a better camera aswell the actions just too quick for mine it just appears as a fuzzy black blob in the middle of the photo. I think im going to buy a video camera before the season starts will be easier than taking stills I think.
