I feel for some strange reason I need to set the record straight , 1st off i don't understand why I got dragged into other people's petty squabbles, not by name but we know it was me being referred to. I have had dogs, ( terriers, lurchers, ferrets) from a young age, I am now 56 years old, I messed about making mistakes and learning as I went along. I was then at the age of 21 introduced to the black terrier, by a childhood friend called Billy, his were the 1st black dogs I ever seen work. Through Billy I was introduced to Ken, who had a yard of black and chocolate coloured terriers, I spen

Why not ask the man himself, I have never found him behind the door in telling someone what they need to hear

Shows are what shows are, you can only judge what you see on the end of the lead, the judge have to distance himself from the person holding the lead and ask himself, "if out in the field what would I like to have to ground, what is best suited for the job, which dog or bitch has every thing that can see it through its job of dealing with the pest in front of it. Weather you like or dislike the person holding the lead, it's the dog your judging, and your judging it to your standards, not others. It's so very easy to be a ring side critique , step into the ring give it your best.

Dd when you introduced The Jess bitch into your breeding programs, were you not concerned about possible defects,ie eyes, mouth, bone, was she a one of. I know you have said about her working capabilitys being exceptional but for to know absolutely nothing about this bitches background/breeding you were taking one mighty risk. I have seen a few dogs in my time of working terriers that I held in high esteem but when unable to trace there full background I preferred not to use them or stuff out of them. Added to say I am glad it all worked out for you and your yard of terriers are a credit to

Enough of this bullying now boys, I think we might all be a bit jealous of Neils fine body work, and if truth be told he is a bit of a babe magnet as I witnessed with my own eyes during a trip to Yorkshire last summer. I am sure you all remember the film Babe.

I often thought of tipping Neil into 1 or 2 of the nice HANDY ones he took us to over the years, only I knew that his poor wee girl would miss him, one thing for sure you wouldn't need much spoil to finish of the dig.

Happy new year to one and all,may the hunting horns blow loud and clear, and may your terriers do what they were did for. Best wishes for 2015

Ireland Iwtf & Nargc At Shanes Castle
sammcc replied to AlbertJ's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
Great to see these two organisations being given and taking up the opportunity to put across the good work they do on behalf of all fieldsports. I would like to ask all terrier owners regardless if used for pest control, showing ,or simply as a pet call in and have a chat with these folk, they are putting in an enormous effort on our behalf, trying to ensure our terriers keep there status. If the organisers of these great game fairs can give there support which is greatly appreciated, surely we can give ours. Yours in sport.sam -
