  4. Went lamping after the pub quiz last night, Me and my cousin decided to have a little match big money on... a whole £5 to the victor basically take it iturns till you miss. We had my beddygrey x whippetgrey - Luda and my cousins kelpie,whippet,beddy - Bella. My girlfriend came last night only her 2'nd time out and she loved it. We saw red stags up fairly close, fox, badger, hare, rabbit, partridge and either snipe or woodcock not sure. We were going for rabbits but first field saw a few hares milling at the far end, cousins didn't want a shot but I thought what the heck a long retrieve would

  8. Whats the technique for using the hacksaw blade?Use it on top of the hair with my fingers underneath, and use the plucking method?or use it like a brush?

  10. would you be looking in the future to put these two dogs together poacher, if they both fufill the standards you require from them? then the pups would have jack on both sides keeping he line going? not interesed in a pup lol just a thought after reading the post. you dont have to reply on here i knw the agro i could cause.

  13. I keep and work spaniels picking up and beating I also keep a beddy cross lurcher that I work alongside them he's got an amazing nose but can sometimes get funny looks from some guns.

I go to spires in chesterfield, much cheaper than vets 4 pets etc doesnt mess about, couple of ozzy vets in that are spot on, i keep spanials and lurchers and they always say the working ones are the fittest best kept etc (not just mine lol) they dont ask too many questions either, i would highly reccomend. took my lurcher to pdsa as an emergency at 6 in the morning some quite major stitching but they charged over a grand, spires looked at the jobs list the pdsa gave me and said it would have been bout £500.felt proper stitched up
  15. First day on the 14th new moor for me cant wait got a few moors this season going to be a good one for the spaniels, and the lurchers, some how got to fit work in around it all, but ive saved up my holidays so alls good.
  16. i had this problem with my youngest spaniel for the first two years no matter how much i fed him he seemed to me to be under weight, again the vet said he was just a fit dog nothing to worry about, he is very very active dog always working and on the playing fields trying to catch the lurcher, towards the end of this season he has started to look better built still no excesive fat just better built. im sure your dogs fine pal looks spot on to me.
  17. I purchased a 2nd hand mark 3 ferret finder towards the end of the season, ive used it twice and found it easy to use but i now cant get the battery oput of the collar. How is it done, do you slide it twist it, prize an end, ive tried everything to no avail.cheers
  18. how about attracting wild duck to a pond, theres a pond i have permission on but its used for fishing in the day. The last few days ive been walking past theres been a pair of mallard on but was wondering it there was anyway to attract more? cheers sorryr for hijacking your thread. cheers adam
  19. My dogs a beddy grey/beddy whippet coming up to 3 in may and i got him from an old member from here called royston2. Was wondering if anybody else ahd a pup from this litter and how there getting on. mines become not only a family dog but an excellent ferreter and an alright lamping dog only on the rabbits tho as ive yet to see anything else (not that i would with the ban), i also take him picking up with me, his nose is excellent and often marks birds where other dogs have moved on.Pics to come later when im home from college.Cheers Adam
  20. well done bird, youve put some work infront of that dog this season, hes not my favourite looking lurcher but then again looks never caught anything.well done adam
