I don't know mate just posted the list of major defectors. Like I say Reform have to get a majority to stand a chance or a Labour/Green/LD coalition will be ruling us come next election. Plucking a couple of hundred of the right politically inclined people off the streets to become MPs with no background in politics would be an impossible task. Wilf's already mentioned councillors but for many its just a job and moving to a better job with more pay and prospects is what we would all do, it don't always mean you were crap at your last job though. At some stage in life we have all changed o

If this is anything to go by just 14 which in the big scheme of things aren't a great deal when they are predicted to win between 271 and 357 seats Full list of all the major former Conservative Party members who have joined Reform | LBC

The MSM are making a great deal out of every Tory defector but there are an awful lot of councillors that have come from nowhere. Our local Reform candidate in the last election had no political background and came 2nd, and just up the road from me the Reform candidate for the council elections has just been announced. He is just a begruntled businessman, he gets no press coverage as it don't suit the political agenda and Im pretty sure if he was an ex tory we would all know about it. I'm starting to think the MSM have jumped on to this because its another stick to beat them with and rai

I'm a paid up member of Advance UK and like Nick Tenconi from UKIP but the likely hood of any of those parties having a candidate in the May elections where I live is is zero and in all honesty a vote for them would be wasted. I just want shot of Labour and Reform are looking like the only party who can do that and whether we like it or not as you say, Reform is Nigel Farage. I do like the way a number of the Reform councillors are coming across on interviews, Laila Cunnigham, Jaymey McGivor and Darren Grimes are just a few and I think would make good MP's all had no political background

Don't want to boor anyone or ruin a nice thread but Its Illegal mate. It goes on most definitely more so in industries and small businesses where there are no official time keeping requirements unlike HGV driving (don't get me started on drivers hours and regs) for example where Digi cards are used to record hours. Unfortunately it wont get picked up on until there is an accident and then HSE will (unlike Mel B's place it seems!) match up payroll with time sheets etc and heavy fines, prohibition notices, closure and in some cases custodial sentences are implemented if the WTD has been bre

Christ that's bad mate the HSE are red hot here, they check the cleanliness of the microwave and would normally automatically serve a prohibition notice for no hot water.

Not legally you cant unless your exempt emergencies etc: In the UK, it is generally illegal to work 12 consecutive days without rest. The Working Time Regulations 1998 state that employees are entitled to an uninterrupted 24-hour rest period each week or, at the employer's choice, 48 hours per fortnight. This means that working 12 days in a row without a rest day is not compliant with UK employment law. However, there are exceptions to this rule, such as in the healthcare sector or during emergencies, where employees may be allowed to work more than six consecutive days.

Have a quiet word with the HSE mate. I work in waste management we have to provide PPE, wash and drying facilities, clean and dirty areas in the locker room, anti bacterial wipes in the vehicles etc etc, hot water and toilets are a must. We have all that stuff and its very clean and tidy and I even issue Weils disease info cards out at the staff inductions and instructions on how to wash your hands above the sinks, but our recent HSE visit saw us with a £100 fine because our nail brushes were dirty ! I get what your saying about the agency side of things though been there myself. PS: A

Not sure if your aware but if they are not being washed in work you can claim a tax break for it as its classed as a specialist industry, its only £60 but better in your pocket ?

Its starting to hit retail as more companies intend to open over the xmas period. Its the Working Time Directive cant work more than 48hrs a week unless you opt out then in can be increased to 60hrs (48hrs needs to be averaged over a 13 or 26 week period) brought in to stop the workforce being abused but can also be used in a negative way. You cant work more than 6 days on the trot either but having the xmas and boxing day off in between act as a 48hr break his employers knows that so can use it to their advantage, Its a minefield.

We're lucky still have both sets of parents and they've been coming to ours since we moved 4 years ago. Cancer, heart attacks, and two have early stage dementia its hard word but so blessed to have them as I have a nasty feeling it may be the last we are all together. Youngest sons marriage finished a few months back and he moved in so also a bit sad as we wont be having the grandchildren with us for the first time. 5ltrs of farmhouse cider should get me through all the dramas though

The wife has just spent 3 days up with her parents who were so ill they couldn't get out of bed, when she asked the Doctor if it could be Covid he said its no longer recognised! Prognosis was severe viral infections. How the hell do we go from being in lockdown and "thousands allegedly dyeing" to Nah don't exist anymore ? And they wonder why everyone is so sceptical about it.

And all the while this is being built to date the UK government has given £21.8 billion of tax payers money to Ukraine to fund the war. We're living in a Clown world!!!!

Some brilliant films on youtube like the one Tomo posted. My 5 year old Grandson spends most of his time in doors glued to a ipad so I try to get him out and about and interested in working with his hands as much as possible when he's over with us.

I get that mate but surely the Tories would have known the financially state of the country and the OBR forecast when they left office ?
-
Yep just seems mental the Tories havent disputed it. The latest seems to be "tackling child poverty" which must have become a thing since the last budget as they didnt seem to give a shit about the kids when they were dishing out pay rises to the public sector and train drivers!
-
OK so we were lied to by Reeves so no surprise there. But what I don't get is for 18 months Labour have been banging on about the state of the economy they had been left with by the Tories so my question is why didn't the Tories stand up and say not true we left with 4.2 million in the black? Did the Tories not know they were in the black when they left government which is just as bad or am I missing something?
-
Said exactly the same to my wife the fact they find their behaviour acceptable is disgusting. This is where these budgets are very clever in essence it had no impact on me or the wife but indirectly it will have a big effect. I bet a large percentage of the population didn't even know there was a budget yesterday and the remainder looked at it and go ah well my house isn't worth 2mill, no electric car, got no kids, never going to have 20k of savings etc the drip drip policies of all government to take a bit from here and there don't in essence hit people directly but indirectly they cripp
