washing and lubeing pellets?
Probuk replied to Skot Ruthless Teale's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I can't dismiss it out of hand because I have no personal evidence that it works/does not work but I respect others choice to use it if it gives them confidence. I have never cleaned a barrell (airgun) properly in 40 years of shooting. I rely totally on the skills I have picked up in that time and I just need to reduce the things I have to worry about before going into competition. I started HFT shooting in January and if I listened to everyone who provides an opinion on what's right or wrong I would never pick up a gun for fear of something going wrong. Thats the good thing about club -
washing and lubeing pellets?
Probuk replied to Skot Ruthless Teale's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
This is the WWW for you in my eyes..What ever happend to buying a rifle and scope..going out and zeroing it in, getting a bit of practice and so on. My first rifle was webly vulcan..i bought a scope and off i went. It must be daunting to get into shooting with air rifles these days. If you look after your rifle and clean and oil the barrel often enough..why all these expecive lube's and washing and weighing pellets.?? Its rubbish in my opinion...sorry Im glad i know what im doing and not new to air gunning anyway. -

O.C.D Thats exactly what it is no matter how proffesional you try to sound. Do they do all this in the army.? Clean and polish each bullet before putting someones lights out with one. Marty -

Just seen this Deer caught in Snare
Probuk replied to blacky7's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
I couldnt agree more.!! What tit would leave a snare out without checking it at a later point.?? If you go out of your way to catch a deer in a snare, Im sure you'd check it later. Make's total sense that this would be an Anti tactic to draw media attention...It was more likely to have been found run over and used as a propergander stunt.!! Nothing these anti do would suprise me these day's..Its war against them and people like ourselve's and Propergander is the name of "There" game without a doubt.!! Marty. -

washing and lubeing pellets?
Probuk replied to Skot Ruthless Teale's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I know all the HFT lads do it at my club but Personally I dont bother ...I think its going way over the top and dont see a point in it. Its just another reason for missing your target having unwashed pellet's. It's very geekish in my eye's... why cant they just put the pellet in the gun..point and pull the triger..if you miss you flippin miss.!! Its an air rifle fireing snot ball size bit of lead at the end of the day...if you dont want to miss buy a shoty...I shot 2 crows with one shot tonight...all i did was point and pull the triger Marty -
If I was you id just put trigger lock on it and fasten a security cable to a wall that suit's you. If the lad's not 18 then law say's he shouldnt be able to access the air rifle. Marty.

Now bearing in mind I was using a Tench customised and tuned BSA r10 in .22 with a Twink MK 2 silencer fitted the lady then goes on to tell me that her 90 year old mother is frightened as the rifle is so loud that she cant have her afternoon sleep So much for those Twink mMK2 Silencer's Si...Over rated.???? Now then fella dont you go jumping the gun now so to speak  Atb Marty

I had this for year's and to be honest I kept shooting the land, but only because 2 shooting club's pay to shoot most the permission's I have. When I first got the permission's, rabbit's where everywhere as the 2 club's are wildfoul club's..Not vermin club's.!! When they started to see me shooting rabbit's & corvid's they started to complain to the land OWNER's AND TENENT's...The club even went and told the Owner of one of my biggest permission's that he cant give out permission because they rent it..The owner replyed I can give permission to who I want and went on to tell them the
-
Ok this could be a point...But i think it's just one person.?? Maybe Marty
-
So he cant shoot rabbits without the landowners permission? Not that I know of. Like I said..the tenant Does Not Have the right to give permission..There's another thing..The land owner's are by law only ment to allow so many gun's on his land..So how would the tenent know he's allowed his limit.?? Try this..If it was your land and renting to a tenent how would you feel about him letting any Tom Dick or Harry on it.?? Atb Marty

That's easy to say but there's this thing called Armed Tresspass.!! Marty.

When you fill it up next and after you bleed it....Watch the pressure drop slighty..This is normal for a hw100. Personaly i just leave it at that but you could top it up. Marty

Hi davy, i see you have a Hw100 have you upgraded your air cylinder on iit for the one you can get off Marksman.? Marty
-
Well Iv had 3 of these rifle's and wouldnt touch anything else right now. All the 100 do it, it's not an issue at all it's just how they work. I dont even bother..I just fill and let it settle..its nothing. That's if this particular rifle dosnt have a problem with an O ring. Let's put it this way ..if I wanted a new pcp, id buy another 100 in .22 just for the hell of it..and if i wanted a spear in the UNLIKLEY event of one going wrong Id buy another 100..And if they did one in .20 cal id buy one of them aswell. Sorry..I love the 100's there the best sporter in the air rifle world in my e
-
Dont panick yet bud...The HW100 when filled will drop pressure..bleed then wait a few moments for it to drop then fill till 200br. It should be fine..they all do it...all 3 of mine have. Atb Marty

Anyone can use the larsen trap Skot..Just make sure the bird's are under as little stess as possible and feed them and water them often. Marty
-
There alot cheaper to make if you have the time..look on the Fourteenacer website for the spring's..There usually used this time of year because this is when they go raiding nest's and taking egg's and young bird's. Marty.
-
Yes you can use larsen trap's but crow's prefer side entry traps..use a dead rabbit in this case Skot and make sure one of it's eyes is patruding from the socket..this will help in getting that first bird. Remember to keep moving the trap. Marty
-
No but the call bird is Marty Make sure it has plenty of gravy Plenty of that stuff in the dog food i feed them on...I feed the bird's 3 or 4 times a day and make sure they have water. Marty Another tip..i keep ginnyfoul eggs in the trap..there as hard as pebbels and they cant crack them open so you save on egg's Marty
