Fair enough. if you like the traditional look of a gun- sleek lines on the stock , nice bit of wood and some shiney blued metal then that's great. buy a prosport but if it shoots straight then to me its a tool for a job! and its job will be plinking and hunting.. so a dull camo finish will be best suited to it...

OBVIOUSLY

as long as it shoots straight that's all that matters ?

nah How did the diy tune go on your 97 mate? mines very consistent now with the rws superfields 2.5 fps spread over 5 shots

Still undecided wether I am going to spraypaint the hw97k or polish it or just leave it lol so stripped it down today to lower power and got started on the action. only 400 grit so looks more scratched than polished in the flesh close up but I stil think it looks bling made the safety catch stand out a bit aswel was going to do the cocking lever aswel but my arm was acheing after doing the the action..just like when you get W8nkers cramp  need some sort of powery tool polishing machine methinks

Bsa Scorpian T-10 Power Loss

My hw100 gauge and the gauge on my fx stage 4 pump are the same -
Now then as you can see, its slightly more consistent. I think this is to do with the new piston seal bedding in after a few more hundred shots fired from 7.1 fps spread down to 5.7 (with the hobbys. so im happy with that. just need power to be lower lol so guess what im doing tonight ?!! bloody stripping it down AGAIN!!! the joys

Trajectory mate. the pellets will impact higher or lower at different ranges. set a target at 10 15 20 25 30 35 40 45 50 ..... zero at 30 then shoot the rest of the targets aiming straight at the bull everytime without adjusting anything! then see where your pellets groups and make a note of this

i think the new piston seal might still be bedding in. going to take the 3 remaining washers out and try it again! got these this morning as soon as I got to the farmers woods. after checking zero with the hobbys in the farmyard. 5 shots at 34 yards I shot the first and as I was reloading, hiding behind a wall, when It dropped from the branch the other one started playing with it! or trying to.. then it got a lead present aswel this is with the superfields at 34 yards, there very consistent over the chrono but feckin shyte accuracy wise! same sort of accuracy as they were i

hopefully it shouldn't cost too much mate. bet you were gutted after driving all that way for your rifle to mess up! should have had a reserve rifle in the boot hope its a quick and cheap fix and you can get back out shooting soon -
Webley Raider, (What Are They Like)
Skot Ruthless Teale replied to big napper's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Seems to be a steady rifle mate. my good mate Bigmac97kt will be along shortly, im sure. he has a raider (2 shot?) which he regards very highly.. and gets plenty of meat on the table with it! as far as I know he swears by JSB Exact 15.89 gr and certainly gets the results with this combo. but every rifle/barrel is different, so you really need to check/test as many pellets as you can in your gun. jsb are a good starting point I always find them highly accurate. aswell as H&N FTTs and A.A. fields hope this helps -
How did it go?? Been pellet testing on a new HW100KS.22 for a mate ,found daystate Li the best with a 5 fps spread over 4 mags. With the 97 at the moment having 5 fps spread is it worth touching it or not ? theres this old saying lol.. "if it isn't broke it doesn't need fixing" hahahaa its something to do when your bored LOL hope my hw97 is as consistent now as it was the other day, all I have done is slightly lower the power from 12.1 I think now it will be at roughly 11 after the adjustment I made. need to double check tho. 7.1 FPS is good enough for me.. just number

Trigger Troubles
Skot Ruthless Teale replied to shootingmadgeorge's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Anticlockwise lightens it making the trigger easier to pull clockwise makes it harder to pull. be careful to use a proper screwdriver so you don't scratch all the coating off the adjuster screw. I have done that to about 4 different hw's -
I always thought my combro was inaccurate. not 100% sure but it was just this feeling I had. thought it was reading high. and now the f1 chrony is a pain in the arse indoors, trying to get it lit up properly. and outdoors it can be aswel! you have to find the right sort of location to get it set up straight and have a safe backstop.. the combro is easier in that respect as you just put it on the end of the barrel and shoot away at the target! suppose the f1 is good for setting up at the target end to see what power you still have at 30 50 70 yards or whatever range you want to know, but of c

Just checked the weather guys. Tomorrow afternoon its meant to be stopping raining at about 12-1pm and will be 4-degrees and 9-10mph winds. Doesn't get dark until about 4pm that gives me a good 3-4 hours window hopefully. Half decent weather I suppose so I should get chance to chrono and zero the rifle again
