I don't think he was actually any kind of party official just a member in the past so don't totally write him off based on that, sure we've all been with a wrongun and got a dose at least once! Still made me laugh when I heard it, not exactly the sort of party switch you'd expect! He'll be giving his first speech as leader tomorrow outlining his vision for the party so that should be worth a watch for those who are trying to make up their mind about him.

He definitely seems to be an improvement on the jokers who have been leader since Farage and you're right he comes across as quite sensible and respectable. I could see him bleeding off a lot of the more libertarian minded Tory voters, especially if May makes a mess of Brexit...

All the ones that contain glycerine derived from pig fat. Plus many more have fats taken from other animals. As you normally say a quick search on Google and it's not hard to find. A quick Google seems to show only Kia-Ora and Schwepps Orange aren't suitable for vegans, two brands is hardly "a lot".

"Taking a knee" is a play in American football (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quarterback_kneel) and also something coaches will instruct the team to do when they want to talk to them in a more informal way before or after a game meaning they want them to kneel on one knee rather than stand around. It's now been adopted to refer to the practice of players kneeling on one knee rather than standing for the national anthem which should be obvious from the context of the thread.
