    Brexit

The damage she's doing to the country and her party's reputation is honestly shocking and it's going to take some serious work to recover With that ruling this morning I'm starting to wonder if she's just going to try and sack the whole thing off and then resign...

    Brexit

So it's gone from being the best possible deal ever and it's either this or no brexit to "oh go on then, we'll give it another go" To be fair kicking the can down the road has been her method of governance since she took office proper sign of cowardice though, when is she just going to admit her government has failed on their one main objective? Just postponing the inevitable at this point... Utter fecking shambles of a government.
  3. I think your doberman has shrunk pal
  4. Spot on there, boxing can give a great foundation to kids IMO even if they don't keep it up as they get older the lessons they learn will serve them well for the rest of their life

Come on you don't really believe Hillary Clinton is even close to being any kind of communist do you? Hillary is just a shite bland neoliberal failed politician and I'll never understand why so many people are still obsessed with her. Even weirder when people who aren't even American still have their knickers in a twist over her IMO.

If you think someone can actually be a liberal, communist democract then I'm sorry but you definitely are at least a little confused

    Brexit

There's been a bit of push by the "liberal left" to rebrand as progressives recently so maybe you'll be able to reclaim the word in a few years It is quite funny when some poor confused soul starts ranting about "liberal commie democrats" though

    Brexit

I'm sure the last time you brought up the DVP someone (maybe Len again) got triggered by the word democrat. Assume it's because of the Democratic Party in America and while that party is terrible I think giving up on the entire concept of democracy just because they named themselves after it is a bit much really

Cheers pal I could actually see your prediction happening too TBH and from a purely party political perspective in a way that could be the best outcome for Labour, it solves the internal argument over a second referendum while placing the blame squarely on May's shoulders and would also really piss off the Tory base. They could be out of power for a generation as a result of a stich up like that. I really can't see any way out of this that doesn't seriously damage May personally and the party as a whole. They should have got rid of her a long time ago...

    Brexit

Well I was talking about what happens if the bill doesn't pass but of course there's a chance it will it's just not very likely when you look at the parliamentary arithmetic, the DUP have already come out and said they will be voting against the bill and the vast bulk of the "hard brexit" wing of the party will vote against it too leaving May having to find an almost impossible number of Labour rebels to prop her up. Even if she did manage that she would just be delaying the inevitable and further damaging the party, can you imagine the backlash from the party faithful who overwhelmingly oppos

    Brexit

Aye UKIP should be in the ascendancy with all this going on but they're a shambles right now. That's great news pal I remember seeing stuff about the efforts to get Natives registered after there was some fecking about with districts and I had hoped such blatant attempts to suppress their vote would just make them turn out even stronger. Sounds like they did!

    Brexit

Going to be really interesting to see the full legal advice on the Withdrawal Agreement that they've now been forced to publish. Must be a reason they fought so hard to keep it under wraps... Going to be a great week for politics geeks!

    Brexit

If you don't like the way our electoral system works campaign to change it. I assume you campaigned hard in the A.V referendum if you think FPTP is so unfair?

    Brexit

Cheers pal Well at this point I think it's more likely than not that the government will fail to pass the Withdrawal Agreement and lose the no confidence vote that's scheduled to follow on Dec 11th and after that there's three possible outcomes that I'll list from least likely to most likely (IMO) 1.) May manages to cobble together another Confidence & Supply arrangement within the 14 day time limit. Can't really see that happening because the concessions she'd have to make to get the votes would literally destroy the party. 2.) The opposition parties manage to come

    Brexit

I think we all underestimated May's ability to hang on with her zombie government TBH but it's been a slow drip drip drip over the last year and things are really coming to a head now. First government in history to be found in contempt of parliament and the government has just faced their third huge defeat of the day on the Grieve amendment. We'll see how things go on Dec 11th but I really can't see the Withdrawal Agreement passing and the DUP have been heavily signalling that they would join in the vote of no confidence that will follow.

    Brexit

Just thought I'd stop by to see what the THL consesus on the Brexit deal is. Don't worry I'll be back to gloat when (not if ?) Corbyn is on his way to No10 though and that might be sooner than you think... ?

    Brexit

They're not going to let this deal pass either. May's fecked it. The UK went into those negotiations holding all the cards, getting a good deal was supposed to be the easiest negotiation ever according to Davis, Farage, Mogg etc but she rolled over for the EU and ended up not even being able get a deal that will pass parliament. Now it's either no deal or no Brexit and it's May and her team to blame, no way around it.

    Brexit

No deal doesn't require passing any legislation through parliament, if you want to leave with no deal all that needs to happen is no deal being passed before March 29th. Supporting this deal because it's the only option makes no sense because it quite clearly isn't the only option. You can spin all you like, May is actively trying to block a no deal scenario by putting this deal to the house. Whatever happened to "No deal is better than a bad deal" ? Personally I couldn't give a f**k either way, all the pieces are falling in to place as far as I'm concerned ?
  22. Had my poor old Ma on the phone to me in a panic yesterday about it, the post she had seen made it sound like they had already put forward legislation banning them!
  23. A non-story that has been turned into a media frenzy by the usual suspects on Facebook... https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/our-region/portsmouth/mps-to-debate-banning-staffordshire-bull-terriers-in-the-uk-1-8569122 In the government's official response to the petition from July 5 it said: ‘The Government has no intention of prohibiting the keeping of Staffordshire Bull Terriers.’
  24. You could tell even he couldn't believe she was actually doing it
