  1. This is a good piece on the coup https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/aug/08/labour-party-mps-corbyn-conservatives-tories-post-brexit
  2. Looks like the coup is going better than the effort in Turkey ! Not a very edifying spectacle to see the Party and the leader taking each other to court, is it though ? How do you reckon it looks to Joe Public ? It's not a good look at all pal although in this situation it was the members taking the executive to court, last week was the party taking the leader to court! At the end of the day if someone has breached a contract or broken rules then taking them to court is the correct thing to do though. This whole thing is definitely doing damage to the party's image with the general pu
  3. I think it's more about the fact the police tried to cover things up and the terrible way they treated the family TBH, there's plenty of racist killings that happen but they don't get the kind of coverage because the investigation then trial all happens without corrupt officers interfering...
  4. Been a good day for Corbyn supporters with the High Court ruling in favour of the members and the Momentum candidates winning a clean sweep in the NEC elections http://labourlist.org/2016/08/clean-sweep-for-pro-corbyn-left-wingers-in-nec-elections/ It doesn't effect the balance of power all that much on it's own but it's a good start to taking control of the internal structures of the party out of the hands of the Blairites.
  5. The way you carry yourself definitely effects how folk treat you and as I've said before you come across a decent chap on here, obviously that's true of how you come across in person too Geography comes into it too I reckon, I'm usually in big towns and cities in the south and I definitely notice folk are more respectful with better manners in the smaller towns further north
  6. She's a real stunner pal, looks a serious bitch too
  7. A little reminder of the "servant" part of their title as public servants would be no bad thing I remember a time when police officers and government officials did always call members of the public Sir or Madam, can't think when it changed TBH, gradual change of attitudes I guess. They still do here. And so does everyone else........I often tell the checkout ladies not to call me "sir" - it always makes me feel like my dad walked inMaybe I just look like too much of a scumbag to be called sir.... Last time I spoke with a copper he was calling me "mate" and "buddy" and he looked about 12! Gu
  8. I don't think bull x lurchers with APBT blood are even technically illegal as long as they don't fit the standard of "pit bull type" which I'm sure most wouldn't.... Honestly bunch of fannies on here screaming anti at every new poster, not very welcoming is it.
  9. Agreed it went way beyond a normal murder investigation, the police don't usually spy on and run smear campaigns against the families of murder victims! http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/06/24/stephen-lawrence-family-smear-campaign-met-police_n_3488498.html
  10. Doesn't even look like a particularly well reared pup FFS, few recent litters in the lurcher section on here looked in far better condition. Dam is an ugly thing too...

  13. A thread on reform of the political system could be interesting but I reckon the majority of the responses would just be variations on "Hang the b*****d lot of them"
  14. This is why we need voting reform TBH, no doubt a party with a solid libertarian platform could pick up a few seats under some kind of PR and then they may get the opportunity to influence policy in a coalition government. That will never happen in the UK either though Even if it did though, there just isn't the mentality for libertarianism in the UK. It's just not on the table in UK politics. Obviously I can see how your suggestion would more fairly represent UK politics though. Not sure if I'd go for single transferable vote though. But for the above, no fecking electoral system wi

  16. Just to bring the thread back to the Labour leadership election for a minute... The High Court has ruled that the NEC were wrong to exclude the 130,000 new members from voting in the election http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-37009871
  17. Think I've said similar in this very thread pal, Romania etc shouldn't have been included in the free movement of labour until their economies had caught up with the rest of the EU. Only one group of people benefited from the influx of unskilled migrants and it wasn't the folk living in the areas they were dumped in.
  18. For that to really work we'd have to have some kind of leveling of the playing field first though otherwise everyone who's made out well in the current unfair system will have an unfair advantage in the new fair system. You're not about to go all Pol Pot on us are you WILF?
  19. There's so much waste we could eliminate without even going that far pal. Just in that article Corbyn was talking about getting rid of the internal market in the NHS saving £3billion a year, mostly in managers wages! Then you've the wasteful PFI contracts, overpaid bureaucrats that don't actually do anything but pull in six figures, MPs expenses, government offices in £100 million buildings in the centre of London instead of out in the sticks somewhere. The list is endless, I reckon me and you alone could sit down and save the country £10 billion a year without anyone even feeling any effect
  20. The effects on public services, housing and jobs are most folks biggest concerns over immigration, we agree on that point? So when Corbyn is talking about what he'll do to improve those things he's addressing working class people's concerns over immigration, that's the whole point instead of just pointing at immigrants and blaming everything on them he's offering real solutions to folks concerns. As we've discussed a few times in this thread if you want a party that will just blame all the problems on immigration vote UKIP, Corbyn is about offering solutions to those problems. At the e
  21. Feck sake max you really can't get the thought of my big hairy arse out of your head can you
  22. There's been some real cracking documentaries on ancient Britain on BBC the last few years, History of Ancient Britain and Sacred Wonders of Britain both presented by Neil Oliver are well worth a watch if you like that sort of thing In fact you can't go wrong with any of the history docs with Neil Oliver
  23. Fair play pal a reasonable position that you've obviously put thought into, even if I am in total disagreement Comes down to the role we believe government should play I suppose and safe to say neither of us will be converting the other any time soon Much as I disagree with the libertarian position I'd like to see those views better represented in parliament, anything has to be better than the various shades of neoliberal we have now and folk like you deserve to a have a party that truly represents you I think both of us realise our ideologies would only work in their purest form in
  24. Still trying to front things out i see ! Its just as well i know you are a small harmless little no mark or you might have been in a little bit of trouble by now Jesus that's low, I knew max was a fecking clown but I thought even he would be above threatening a mans freedom over a disagreement on the internet FFS Definitely the sort of thing any man with a backbone would never even entertain doing.
  25. Like the look of him pal nice strong stamp
