Aye would definitely need to be well vetted, I imagine it'd mostly be students who are planning on going into the caring professions that would take it up.

So the Dutch are just better people than us?

Good Solution, Coexist Rather Than Total Eradication

They're not very effective against the foreign Mackenzie Valley wolf which has been introduced to the lower 48.Those are the timber wolves right? Can see why even a big LGD would struggle with them Yeah timber wolves. It was posed as a re-introduction but there is quite a bit of evidence that the Canadian wolves are a seperate subspecies. They are definitely bigger than the wolf which was made extinct in the lower 48, due to being a different species or merely large average individuals of the same species due to Bergmann's rule. Aye think I remember seeing a documentary about that now you men -

Do kids still wear hand-me-downs? Swear every item of clothing I had as a kid had been worn by at least two cousins and one of my brothers before I got it! We really were dirt fecking poor but when I look back at my childhood it sure was happy, credit to my parents they made do with what we had

I've never been one to just throw my hands up and say it's just too much effort when faced with a problem, you can think trying to improve things is futile if you like but I'll crack on like I've been doing basically all my life. Hell it keeps me busy if nothing else I admire your commitment to your beliefs, mate - even if I don't agree with them - and I'd wish you every success. And I use the word "success"........quite wrongly ! Thanks pal, it's just how I was raised. Come from a very political family and we were all taught to stand up and fight for what we feel is right from a yo

I found that interesting too, makes sense I guess when you've got a big pack of mixed sexes and ages totally unsupervised most of the time. Stops any overly harsh corrections from the older dogs while they all find their place in the pack from causing too much damage. -
We had one of them

Yep I'm the same Gaz, pups get jabbed at 8 and 12 weeks then no boosters for the rest of their lives, never had any problems neither has anyone I know who does the same.

The decline of the straightener in the car park is a real shame, these days if there's a disagreement on a Saturday night it turns into a mini riot FFS!

Often wondered why LGDs weren't employed more in Canada and the US where they have real problems with predation, good to see someone encouraging their use over there -
That is fecking brilliant, solving two problems (student housing and lonely old folk) in one shot. We could learn a lot from the Dutch on a lot of things TBH

Bang on the money with that post DIDO.1 And that's comeing from an ex miner and one time hard left winger. Tatsblisters I always read your posts with interest mate, and I have to say with a bit of sadness, reading what you write starkly illustrates how allianated people have become from the people that steal and spend their tax money. See years ago, a lad like you would have been "the enemy" to me.....and probably vice versa........but now we realise that we have all been f****d over and really we are comrades. Maybe that's the one good thing to come out of how MPs have made things....

Definitely a bit of a blow but not all that unexpected and because of the low turn out we can't really use it as a guide to how all the affiliated GMB members will vote in the leadership election. We'll find out if the appeal against the high Court ruling on the cut off date for new members is successful or not tomorrow and then Smith's CLP are meeting to nominate on Friday. With calls for Watson to step down as deputy if the appeal that he pushed for fails and the fall out if Smith's own CLP doesn't nominate him it's shaping up to be an interesting weekend.

Damn right...and anyone who hunts who votes for these freaks...well I don't even know what to say Same could be said for anyone that votes for any of the major parties including UKIP, none of them have abolishing the Hunting Act as a policy... The difference is most other parties don't want to touch the hunting issues with a ten foot barge pole....while it's a totemic issue for labour. If labour get in they will strengthen the ban and we would be finished There's no plan or great appetite to make any changes to the Hunting Act within Labour... Like I said before anyway it seems a bit s

That's the theory but the Europeans ain't doing bad using their methods. I agree with the old theory of intelligent line breeding and outcrossing when certain traits begin to wain.... As you said in your other post pal if one method was the only way everyone would be doing it, I do wonder how much litter wastage they see from these heavily scatterbred breedings though... I definitely agree with the tried and tested methods too, always interesting to look at how other folk around the world are doing things though

I agree bull terrier breeds can make great family dogs pal, staffie would probably be the first breed I'd recommend to most folk looking for a family pet/companion but APBTs are a different kettle of fish and should never have been in the hands of the general public in the first place IMO. They're a specialist breed that requires an owner that really understands them. There was no problems when they were only kept by real enthusiasts that took the right measures to ensure there was never a problem, I don't think most pet owners are up to that task and why put yourself through all that extra st

You might make a good box dog out of scatterbred dogs but will it be able to reproduce in a consistent manner? With tight family bred dogs you can make a much more educated guess as to how certain pairings will turn out and so plan your breedings better and hopefully end up with higher percentage of pups making decent dogs.

Steve Rotheram a very close ally to Corbyn has won the nomination to be the Labour candidate in the Liverpool mayoral race. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/jeremy-corbyns-westminster-aide-steve-8599198

Sounds perfectly sensible and reasonable to me, they need to be able to communicate effectively with their passengers for a whole host of reasons.

Even as a bull breed owner with a few tattoos who's definitely been described as a fuckwit before I have to agree with BlackBriar, any kind of legislation isn't going to have any effect on the type of people causing problems with their dogs it will just make life harder for the law abiding responsible owners. Honestly I'm of the belief APBTs don't belong in the hands of your average pet owner no matter how responsible they are and I'd worry if they were made legal again we'd get the fur mummy brigade deciding to "save the breed" like has happened in America and TBH they're the absolute wor

While the main parties are content fighting over the 30 odd percent of folk that turn out to vote in GEs instead of mobilising and engaging folk that don't usually vote nothing will change. Look what happened in Scotland with the SNP and to a certain extent with the EU referendum too, disenfranchised voters who have never really been involved in politics actually campaigning and turning out to vote and effecting huge changes to the political landscape. Just to drag the thread back on topic... this is actually an argument going on in the Labour party right now, whether you need to chase a
