    whoever did that to the dog needs put down themselves but how can they blame badger baiters ? surely fire wouldn't work as it would kill everything below ground. the vets should be made to answer to the accusations they've made against hunters. that dog looks like its been abused by a sick wingnut not somebody that hunts. and agreed the nwtf, iwtf, ca and santa should do more to counteract the lies being used against decent people

    yes agree dont think it would make the grade cocker but 2nd and 3rd genration would be intresting. i love the saluki but imo still need that touch of greyhound back in its blood now and again same as we do the pure saluki must say its great to have a difference in opiaions between of a few decent lads on here with out all the shite that goes on how this site should be would you say its equal qualities that both breeds contribute to make better dogs than the original individual breeds themselves

    this should be a good topic, ive only ever seen one saluki and it was a dopey b*****d ended up getting knocked down in the end. although I am intrigued to see the breed run a hare to see what theyre like. ive no experience with these dogs but an keeping an open mind on them

    whats the salukis like at taking fox are they any good? a lota people snub the greyhound constantly slating them, but where would the lurcher world be without these magnificent large running dogs. who wants to see a ten min chase by a slow dog when the added speed of the grey would cut the time down ten fold cause if it cant run it aint gona catch anything. which should be the most important factor in any running dog.

    when a line is breeding to type and doing the job well and producing good workers after good workers is that not a type of dog bred for a specific job where it would be classed as a new sight hound breed. its a lurcher thats the breed name is it not there are lines of fen dogs been bred true to type for years but if you go back down the line theres a mix of different dogs ie bedlington irish terrier and so on so no its not going to be a new breed they are lurcher bred dogs. I know what your saying but in the creation of new breeds other breeds have to be crossed to try and get the type you

    I never had an outstanding lurcher that was a one in a million dog how ever ive had the pleasure of hunting with 2 dogs of different breeding both owned by very good mates. 1. was a collie grey x collie grey called rebel this dog had balls to burn great taking foxes hares rabbits cats in high numbers also was great out digging marked holes and done his job outstandingly when out digging with out going into details, he took 4 foxes in one day out doing cover and didn't mind teeth. 2. the other is a bull grey called meg this bitch has put many a good dog to shame again she is a great taker of fo

    at what stage does a line of good dogs become a new breed, sight hound crosses that's bred for running the fens for example for many generations, at what point do they become theyre own separate breed even called fen hounds. im just wondering as obviously the people crossing the breeds for certain traits from parents to improve on what they have. the way the patterdale was bred from lakeys and red fells etc. id be interested to hear others opinion.

    I like hearing about ex trackers doing well the one I had was great with terriers, people but not stock broke that was her downfall not her fault though id have another any day, pleasure to own
