  1. Got a sandy vasectomised hob here that's not getting out enough, took my jill out of season this year. Will take a tenner for him. Pick up from Skipton. PM me.
  2. Wouldn't be going near that f****r! You boys want to get yourself a couple of longnets for them hedges. Great write up, and hopefully see you next week.
  3. Already typed this out but the computer decided to crash. Anyway, was out with a mate today in the dales on some land that Ideation and Jonnyboy should remember. A few of the rabbits played ball today and went to ground instead of doing one like they usually do. We even managed a little explore... Didn't have much time for taking photos in this rain. Joe
  4. About 3-4 digs, but charlie was onto the spade straight away, sound fella.
  5. Had a day out with charlie nelly on some of his land, got to his about 9:30 and had set off walking by 10. Took us half an hour to get to the land, which is fairly high up moorland. As we got to the land, rabbits were diving into warrens everywhere. Five dropped into a fairly nice warren, all of which were caught. This was to be the theme of the day. The keeper met us at about 1, by which time we had caught 15. After we had had a bit of lunch, he took us to a new spot on his quad. On the way we kept stopping to ferret burries that we'd seen rabbits drop down. More and more rabbits were being a
  6. If we're any good at our job, each rabbit should only see a ferret once. So, in my opinion, those who often talk about rabbits that have seen ferrets before are talking bollocks. Joe
  7. Had this one a couple of years ago whilst ferreting.
  8. Rocky, it's awful to dig. Later that day infact, we had to get this big fecker out.
  9. You often hear the pet brigade informing you that you must remove the shot area of an animal before feeding it to the ferts, so they don't get lead poisoning. Feed shot rabbit most days, never had a problem. Any of you find many of these when cleaning out?
  10. Often, round here, their only option is to burrow out in the open...
  11. Looking for a few hunting dvds if anyone's got any for sale? PM me. Cheers.
  12. Nice one Whippet, I think a lot of people wouldn't have bothered so fair play to you.
  13. Why don't you use them for the ferrets?
  14. Handle them as much as possible.
  15. What do basc provide in the way of insurance then?
  16. Probably because you're such a big stud
  17. Looking for a couple of Mk6 traps, where's the cheapest place for genuine ones
  18. Where've you got this 'fact' from? Been feeding them on ferals shot from a farm I shoot at almost solely for the past couple of years.
  19. Got a mate who's asked me to ask on here. Basically he's getting head shots with his air-rifle, but the rabbits are running off. I suggested to get it's power tested (chronod?), if not all I can think of is shot placement or the pellets he's using aren't good enough? What do you lads reckon?
  20. Are you a relative of Whin? Can never understand a word of what you say.
  21. They either want someone to catch their rabbits or not, most of the time they'll have decided from the first impression you give them.
  22. Do you think they'd have their food plucked and gutted in the wild?
  23. They usually say yes or no when you ask, it's not an interview. I think not turning up straight away with a dog is the best bet.
