The Proto Type of the new Nite - Hunter Digi Add On
Tanican replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
@ Si. Thanks you for popping over last night before going on your business trip. Me and Steve are converted and Steve is intending selling his own unit now and ordering a NiteHunter add on. For anyone who as not witnessed this unit but is skeptical of its capability you really need to see it for yourselves. From what I saw and comparing it with a £600 night vision rifle scope rated at gen 1 the add on was far far better with the illuminator turned on and the viewed picture is super bright and clear even at the 150 yards Si set it up at just before he had to depart on business. The ideal shooting position sitting down?
Tanican replied to Nade's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Most of the shooting I do in my garden is from the sitting rested and sitting not rested on anything positions. I find them very comfy and I gain excellent results with my little Ultra. I've not shot live rabbits but i can agree with Zini (si) when he says if you can get into either sitting position slowly and correctly shooting rabbits will be very achievable and to a good distance. Another point is Zini as been doing this and shooting rabbits from different positions for a long time and he as the proof it works So I can see why your straight negative comment to the original poster was answer -
Spot, it looked sharp to me. Are you one of these hunters that thinks a hair shaving blade is best? That sort of blade lasts 5 minutes when using it in the field and its blunt.

Pink, I think the original poster on the other site was being a little confused himself. Due to my profession I know that If you were to shoot 10 shots perfectly through the same hole 10 times due to the laws of physics the hole would get slightly bigger up to a certain point and it would not be 4.52mm at the end. If you have ever watched the bench shooting championships with men and women shooting at a very high level and shooting tiny bulls eyes they only shoot one pellet at one target. I've witnessed more than 10 shots being shot at bulls eyes perfect so put this into context it’s mor

The BSA Ultra is a light, accurate and nice rifle that can handle anything legal humanly if pointed in the correct place. Tanican

After researching this and speaking to a friend in the know, i would seriously think about a Theoben Rapid 7 Mk2 or a Theoben MFR in .22 or .25 rather than the other 2 named rifles. The Verminator though light, accuarate and small has a tendency to leak from the fill port and the Daystate is too nice to use as a works tool where it will be subject to dust and foreign particles in old factories, sheds and barns. The Rapids are much more robust work horses and can with stand all the bad things that come with a pest control environment task. Tanican.

New VerminHuntersTV Air Rifle Trick Shots
Tanican replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Awesome, it doesn't get much better than that. Tanican. -
Morning ladies and gents, I have just stayed up and watched the trailer for Si Pittaway’s and DavyT63’s new YouTube joint channel VerminHuntersTV on YouTube. Got to say it looks like it is going to be a real cracker of a channel promising all new unseen footage from them both. I for one will be subscribing now that it’s open to viewers. I was speaking to Si, hope you don’t mind Si and Davy, via text yesterday day and knew this was coming I also know that he has plans with Davy for something very big within the next year or so but wouldn’t say any more and was keeping things very close to his c

Thank you gentlemen. I'm learning who is respected on here and seems to know their stuff and who is a potential pain in the butt. Glad to see there is only 1 or 2 who stand out so far and as a whole am well impressed with the quality of you guys knowledge. Tan.

I think its faulty as I have just purchased a guntuff lrf and its awesome. It picks things up as small as pellet tins at 20 yards. Maybe get your money back. T.

The Davy Crockett challenges as on Myth Busters TV.
Tanican replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Very good and informative answer Phantom thank you. Yes if my illness keeps improving I would love to get a invite to attend this get together. I'm no where up to these challenge standards though but am willing to give them ago. I tend to shoot my Ultra in the garden which is no further than 20 yards, but it can sometimes land a pellet on top of the previous one when rested on my cushion. I've not really shot at real long ranges over 30 yards so not sure how I or the Ultra would perform. I find it easier to shoot than my old hw35 though. Tanican. -
Thanks Phantom.

The Davy Crockett challenges as on Myth Busters TV.
Tanican replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Thanks Davy. I look forward to hearing how Si gets on then. I noticed you both shoot a lot of quarry over the recommended air rifle shooting ranges with good results. Are you using more powerful air rifles to do this or is the 30 to 35 yard max ranges wrong now days due to better air rifles? I love watching the dvds. Learnt so much from Si, he seems to really know his subjects well and explains and demonstrates really well. I suppose experience counts for lots and I bet you and him have been shooting longer than my short 3 years. Tanican. -
What pressure do I charge my BSA ULTRA to?
Tanican replied to Snifferboy's topic in General Airgun Discussion
190 bar will ensure you start at a nice power curve location and all your shots will be consistent. -
cheap spirit level for setting up scopes
Tanican replied to fry's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
How and why do you use a spirit level to set up your telescopic sight? Sorry to sound silly. -
I have not seen it with rabbits but i have shot wood pigeons in the head and the shot as been a touch too high and knocked the bird clean out cold as the pellet skimmed off its head. I should think it could hppen to rabbits also. Tanican.
