  1. The blood didn't seem to rush out very fast either. If you run the knife along a beasts neck and then penetrate the jugular at the closest point ( just before the top of the breast bone ) its alot more effective. Any knobend could cut an animals throat like that. In turn it will obviously suffer more. If your not trained you wouldnt know the difference. That's why there's strict regulations now in every abattoir up and down the country. My mate over 20 years in the job got sacked a few months back because a Q.C. Said he didn't stun a bullock to reasonable standards and because he hung and bled
  2. I havnt read threw this thread so forgive me if this has already been stated. I worked in 3 different slaughterhouses down the years. I can do most jobs on any killfloor. Though I was mainly shooting, shackling and bleeding. The animals i worked with ranged from turkeys, chickens, cows, lambs, horses and deer. After watching that clip Halal obviously is a more inhumane way, for the simple reason the animal in questions brain is still active while it's lifeblood is pouring out until it looses consciousness. With a bolt gun or barrell ( used correctly ) the animals brain is dead from the word
  3. I've dug over some fine working dogs and bitches down the years that came from R.BOOTH when he lived in Ireland at the beginning ! I wouldn't trust him, then again theres not many I would trust Ego's seem to get in the way far too often when it comes to "terrierwork"

    Pine marten

The 1 st one I nearly ran over with the car was a bit smaller than a ferret, so was the second one that was lying dead on the road. The 3rd road kill marten wasnt as big as a cat but it was about the size off a half grew cat. I should have stopped and took a picture but it was a bad road with no layby.

There's plenty off lakes and woodland in Fermanagh were I was driving threw so I suppose it's ideal for them. Never heard off anyone aroun here hunting them before though.

    Pine marten

Seeing the weather is good at the minute I brought the family away to co.donegal to the beach for the day. just over an hour off driving i seen a young starling flapping across the road in front off me and then got its wings and flew off, within seconds what i thought was a pine marten ran out in the same direction as the bird had across the road and lucky enough I didn't hit it. I said to the missus what I thought it was. I've never seen one in the flesh before surprisingly. Further on up the road I seen one lying dead that had been hit by a car. Then another one about a mile later only this
