some things in this world are amazing -
i took my pup for a run last night only had one slip.i ran him with my other dog the older dog done well to keep it off the hedge the pup done ok but just seemed to get in the way hence the rabbit made its escape.ill just have to find him some squatters hes just over 7mths

i started mine of with rats caught in cage traps loved watch the ferret chaseing the rat all over the cage then the kill

i used what ever would go down the hole they take a bit of stick at first but soon know how to work them,you woldnt believe some of the places we used to rat and if i had a ferret now i dont think i would ferret them places again

i used to like ferreting the slag heaps around farms you just know that rats ars going to bolt everywhere and if the ferret kills there easy to dig

there used to be about 8 of us me and my mate were the kids the rest were adults they only used us for the ferrets looking back now but we didnt care we were glad of the sport,they used to bring a canoe for the rats and a landing net it was hillirious when they nearly tipped up with rats in the water id love a day out like that again but memoiries will have to do

ye i know what you mean.had some really nasty injuries back then but still done it but the ferrets get used to working them,we used to do river banks at the side of a tip and it was really fast action with the dogs and the guns shooting them in the water

i look on here most days and see topics of peoples catches with rabbits which is fine by me but when i was a lad i hardly worked my ferrets on rabbits it was mainly rats and what good sport it was so just wondering does anyone use there ferrets to bolt rats to the dogs

good idea that kev save them getting knocked about what with the price of them.looks like ill have to start saveing for a lithium and order a case of ye in the near future but well happy with the ammo pouch

when you introduced your self in the newbies section didnt anyone say to you welcome to the assylum as i thought that was the norm

they used to do that to rook chicks in the nest when the wars was on and food was a bit short,the parents would keep feeding the chicks and fatten them up for them.they then sent young lads up with a sack to collect them.i think thats were the song came from 4 and 20 blackbirds baked in a pie came from but could be wrong
